Description:
 
The Third Party Custody team supports the Private Bank’s Investor Community - Bankers, Investor Relations, Client Service, and Marketing teams by servicing the Private Bank’s core custody product.
 
Currently, there are approximately 300 3rd party custody accounts within the Wealth Management platform.  JPMorgan acts as the discretionary manager for the clients assets, while the assets reside with an external custodian.  As this product continues to grow, there is a need for increased oversight, support and process improvement in all areas.
 
The candidate will be required to quickly understand, support and improve all aspects of the Third Party Custody product including but not limited to account set up, funding, data flows, reconciliation and reporting. The candidate will be required to work in a team environment supporting a variety of other areas within the firm such as Front Office, Middle Office, Client Service, Custody, and Operations.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Become a specialist in all aspects of Third Party Custody within Private Bank
  • Manage relationships with the outside Custodians 
  • Provide support to the Investor community around the product
  • Interface with the Middle Office and operations on business and functional aspects of Third Party Custody, throughout the product lifecycle.  Liaise with these groups to understand other business priorities and requirements
  • Document requirements and process flows, and communicate the same to the Middle and Front office population
  • Ensure that deliverables are met, including industry best practices and standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and participate in design reviews.
  • Work with finance to ensure accurate reporting of flows and AUM data
  • Produce Ad-Hoc reporting for senior management
  • Review daily reconciliation reports and work with outside Custodians and internal partners to clear breaks.
  • Liaise with Plan and Build teams to determine any business requirements, functional specifications, and implementation plans for technology projects as required
  • Assist in developing and reviewing documented test plans, and coordination of UAT.
 

 

 

Required:
  • Project management skills
  • Experience interfacing with outside vendors (i.e. Custodians, Fund Accountants/Administrators)
  • Operational and/or Client service experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Process driven, and at ease with technology, client and account reference data
  • Experience in workflow analysis and documentation
Preferred:
  • Experience in Asset/Wealth Management focus on settlements and messaging
  • Understanding of Private banking and Private banking operations
  • Exposure to international offices and procedures
  • Microsoft Suite of application proficiency
