The Military & Veteran's Affairs organization (MVA), established by JPMorgan Chase in 2011, develops and implements a comprehensive military and veterans strategy to provide programs, products and services to meet the unique needs of the military and veteran community in the areas of employment and small business and will leverage veteran employees' strengths across all our lines of business.
MVA’s Regional Jobs Missions (RJM) establish regional business coalitions and facilitate veteran education and workforce development programs to meet the employment needs of middle market and small companies in JPMC’s strategic hub communities. RJMs develop talent pipelines for member companies through workforce development programs that train, educate and certify veteran talent.
The Regional Jobs Mission (RJM) Program Manager reports to the Director of External Programs. The primary responsibility of this position is to expand opportunities for veterans to work in middle market and small businesses in the firm’s 11 US strategic hub locations across the US by establishing coalitions of companies interested in hiring veteran talent.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategy for the RJM via ends, ways, means, and metrics
  • Build relationships with internal leaders, state and local government officials, business readiness groups (affinity), community colleges, and middle market and small business companies in order to expand size, reach and impact of Regional Jobs Mission program
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for Regional Jobs Mission sites, specifically responsible for enhancing relationships and promoting the collaboration of the coalition members
  • Develop, implement and manage operational processes for the Regional Jobs Mission program 
  • Manage and lead the planning and execution of RJM meetings and event
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, as well as the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and develop other external stakeholders and support for RJM priorities
  • Manage and coordinate all civic engagement activities to ensure that engagements align with MVA and JPMorgan Chase priorities and strategy to ensure strategic and systemic impact
  • Develop and manage multiple project plans; responsibilities include researching emerging economic trends, developing clearly defined project goals, objectives, and deliverables, measuring project success through measures of performance and measures of effectiveness, and managing project budgets
  • Develop external public, private, and non-profit partnerships to collaboratively address employment needs of veterans and complement the Veteran Jobs Mission
  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required; master’s degree preferred; with five or more years of experience in project management; military experience is a plus
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong relationship management skills to grasp the political nuances of situations and seize opportunities
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and comfort in communicating with different levels of management and in high-visibility situations
  • Highly organized, detail and control oriented
  • Clear ability to think and act strategically, proactively and creatively
  • Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines within a fast-moving professional environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to develop strong, positive working relationships across a matrixed organization
  • Familiar with the issues and needs impacting the military veteran community
  • Strong skills with Microsoft office products required (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
