Consumer & Community Banking consists of the following lines of business:

 

Consumer Banking serves customers at 5,200 branches in 23 states, 16,000+ ATMs, online, through mobile and by phone.

Mortgage Banking serves customers primarily through the branches, as well as by telephone and online. Services mortgage loans with combined balances of $845 billion and offers purchase and refinance solutions to first-time and experienced home buyers.

Chase Card Services consists of two businesses: Consumer and Small Business and Commercial Card. The No. 1 credit card issuer in the U.S. based on loans outstanding.

Business Banking provides deposit, credit and cash management services to businesses with annual revenue up to $20 million in 23 Chase footprint states.

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) is undertaking an aggressive digital transformation agenda, which builds on the success of the current mobile and online service offerings. Chase is investing in innovative ways to deepen customer engagement and profitability through the use of digital channels. The ambition is to position Chase as the undisputed leader in digital financial services and payments and to enable Chase to deliver the highly personalized, real time experiences that customers increasingly expect.

 

The online and mobile channels for Chase CCB currently support more than 32 million active customers; 9 million customers interact with us daily, making Chase the most visited banking portal in the US.   Within Consumer and Community Banking, the Digital IT team is responsible for setting and executing strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation across Chase Online and Mobile, helping to establish the best Digital banking customer experience in the industry.

 

In this position within the Digital Big Data & Analytics team, you will function as the liaison between application and infrastructure teams focusing on the build out and operation of our new big data analytics platform. 

 

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Significant participation in the implementation, debugging and performance tuning of big data messaging, data and analytics solutions
  • Partnering with senior architects and application development teams to define big data application infrastructure requirements including performance and capacity
  • Partnering with infrastructure teams on the build out and ongoing support of the platform
  • Manage technical risks for all application infrastructure and platform dependencies
  • Champion operational stability of platform through peer reviews, governance, automation and monitoring

  • 10+ years of experience in distributed systems Linux infrastructure
  • Extensive experience with horizontally scalable and highly available system design and implementation, with focus on performance and resiliency
  • Extensive experience profiling, debugging, and performance tuning complex distributed systems
  • Knowledge of container based as well as Big Data technology
  • Willingness to commit extra effort to meet deadlines as required on a high profile and business critical project
  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • Working experience with Enterprise Java development, NoSql data platforms (Cassandra), Pub/sub messaging (Rendezvous, AMPS, Kafka, etc.), Stream processing (Storm, Spark Streaming, etc.)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Consumer banking knowledge preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
