Trading Counterparty Relationship Manager
 
As one of the world’s leading investment management companies, J.P. Morgan Asset Management  (“JPMAM”) is a major client of many counterparties and brokers.  The funds and accounts that we manage on behalf of our clients pay a substantial amount of both implicit and explicit commissions and fees (typically referred to as ‘wallet’) to these counterparties.  Historically the management of these relationships has been primarily conducted within respective business lines: Equities, Fixed Income, Global Liquidity, etc.  In order to continue to develop and strengthen our relationships, we are taking a more holistic view of how we manage our counterparties and wallet across all lines of business within JPMAM. The Counterparty Relationship Manager (CRM) will be the key facilitator in establishing this firm-wide transparency.  S/he will report into the Senior Broker Relationship Manager for JPMAM and be aligned with the Equity and Fixed Income Trading desks.
 
The role of the CRM will have the following core components:
  • Liaise with senior managers from different business lines to develop a broad and deep understanding of the nature of our major counterparty relationships within each business
  • Liaise with senior relationship managers and business heads at our leading counterparties to develop a closer understanding of their organizational structures and business strategy respective businesses
  • Collation of reports and data from multiple different business lines and production of concise executive summaries for use by senior executives.  Will include qualitative and quantitative information.  Initially this will represent over 50% of the functional role requirement 
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute projects across Asset Management
  • Plan and organize management and other internal and external meetings to drive various initiatives  

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business studies/economics/finance/maths/natural sciences. 
  • The candidate may have other professional qualifications (legal, accounting) or otherwise have attained/be studying towards full CFA certification.
  • Expertise in PowerPoint: Creating and editing presentations for senior meetings
  • Strong reporting skills: highly capable with Excel plus Tableau/Spotfire/QlikView
  • 3+ years of experience working in an asset management or investment banking organization, possibly within a Business Management or Corporate Strategy function
  • Knowledge of financial markets (equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, etc)

  • Accustomed to dealing with highly sensitive data and subject matter with tact and discretion
  • Proven abilities as a ‘self-starter’ who is can drive projects to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to interact constructively with a variety of different stakeholders
