Overview

The North American Corporate Commodities Sales desk is responsible for originating, marketing and selling metals, energy and agriculture products to corporate clients. Products range from vanilla commodity flow to structured finance, and size of clients range from middle market to multinational. Individuals on this desk work closely with traders, corporate/investment bankers, FX/rates product partners and credit coverage to provide innovative, effective solutions to clients. As an analyst on the commodities desk, you will provide support in comprehensive client coverage across energy, metals, and ags.

 

Responsibilities

• Effectively service clients: deliver timely market color and front-end research, investigate queries, provide pricing indications and keep the desk running smoothly • Establish a high degree of competence around executing derivatives trades: communication, pricing, accurate booking and flawless management of downstream processes • Build relationships within front office and support areas, and be able to leverage them for exceptional client service • Demonstrate proficiency with credit, legal and regulatory systems • Support the sales team in analytical and presentation work required for client marketing materials • Escalate issues appropriately and minimize risk to the firm


• Strong work ethic, professionalism and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure • Strong analytical, quantitative and communication (both verbal and written) skills • Resilient attention to detail • Experience in Excel, Bloomberg PowerPoint, Word and VBA • Ability to learn J.P. Morgan products, systems and pricing tools • Genuine interest in corporate clients and commodity markets • Experience in commodity markets and financial derivatives a plus
