Job Description:
As a member of our team you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll be tasked with making product decisions and keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-especially Agile frameworks-is key. Best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our talented team of technologists and commercial real estate professionals.
The Product Owner will manage one or more internal applications, and shape the vision and plans for the future of the product. Working as the bridge between end users and the development team, this person will be responsible for product execution, including: feature functionality requirements and design, coordination with key stakeholders, and general product oversight.
Key Responsibilities 
Manage the product roadmap and backlog, elicit and communicate new features and enhancements to technologists, coordinate the successful implementation of product releases, and support ongoing product use while focused on the business vision and strategy.
  • Assess business needs and strategic objectives
    • Research best practices to influence strategy and design of innovative tools, solutions and processes
    • Engage directly with key stakeholders, managers and end users to understand their needs and champion technology functionality that delivers an enhanced user experience
  • Partner with technology for the design, implementation, servicing and sustainability of the product(s)
    • Understand Agile system development methodology and terminology to help develop, verify and accept new functionality built through stories, epics, sprints, and releases
    • Determine what should be delivered, clarify requests and prioritize requirements with an integrated view of the full user experience
    • Work with the technology team to research issues/defects  and remediate with long term solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, partners and end users
    • Align business vision to product design and delivery
    • Define, develop, adapt, and convey the roadmap to communicate future features
    • Assess, prioritize and communicate strategy and requirement decisions, including saying “no”
    • Identify stakeholders and facilitate collaboration between them
    • Partner with internal teams that service and support the product(s) 
  • 7-10 years of product management, design and business analysis experience; prior experience as a product manager/owner using Agile development methods and experience in commercial or residential real estate lending a plus
  • Working knowledge of setting vision and design tied to strong strategic objectives 
  • Strong blend of strategic thinking, problem solving, change agent and business savvy
  • Passion to understand workforce trends and changes, and determine what and how to incorporate into future design
  • Strong software product management and governance using standard industry tools (experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira is a plus)
  • Exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques integrating diverse and global needs and interests
  • Communicate vision and intent, deferring detailed features and design decisions to be made just in time
  • Highly consultative and collaborative and can marshal diverse views across businesses, regions and levels
  • Thought leader with practical decision-making ability to deliver precise, accurate and detailed technology solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to present to varying levels of management


The final officer title and job grade is at the discretion of the firm and will be discussed at the time of offer.  It may be different than what is listed on the requisition based on candidate experience level.
