Team Description
 
The OTM (Operations Task Manager) is a flagship Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) application providing system exception and query management functionality. The application is utilized by 8,000+ people across multiple locations globally to manage tasks from over 40 integrated systems and internal queries.  Designated as one of the top 150 CIB applications OTM was developed in-house and is being rolled out across the CIB and beyond.
 
OTM adoption is accelerating across Markets & Investor Services and additional core and risk management systems will be integrated.  OTM functionality is comprised of three functional pillars; (i) visualization of exceptions generated from integrated system know as “system tasks, (ii) “query management” through a dedicated client facing channel in J. P. Morgan Markets (JPMM) and internally generated queries and (iii) creation of bespoke workflow known as “directives”. With the release of the new application, OTM 2.0 in 2016, the objective is complete adoption for 10,000+ Operations users, integrate core and risk management applications for users to manage system tasks and onboard 100+ clients to the digital query management channel in JPMM.
 
To cater for the growing OTM usage and demand, the OTM Product Owner team is looking to hire an experienced business analyst. The prospective candidate will be someone who is keen to build their core program management skills and also develop their product management expertise.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key program initiatives targeted at making OTM a world class product.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of the current control framework within OTM and devise a strategy that delivers the control uplift required across the application as our use base grows.  Specifically entitlements, recertification of access that includes movers, joinder, leavers and integration with Core CIB Access & Entitlement tools 
  • Review and propose uplift to the data segregation framework within OTM to include a review of the legal entity, Org and other data attributes that define need to know
  • Review and propose changes to the integration schema where core technology platforms are integrated with OTM for exception management
  • Partner with OCM, IRM and Compliance teams for each initiative to ensure new features and new adoption activities are compliant with the relevant policies.
  • Manage x-LoB stakeholder governance across the regions to senior stakeholders (MD and ED) across Markets and Investor Services
  • Develop relationships across the Markets & Investor Services Operations franchise and influence the priority of LoB Change Teams to assist the adoption of OTM on the ground
  • Drive, promote & influence the adoption of OTM across External Clients, CIB businesses and technology architecture stacks
  • Ensure the quality, scalability and value of integrations
  • Manage the communications and tracking of control uplift activities (client & internal queries and systems) progress & achievements Continually enhance the procedures and controls within the team’s processes
  • Act as an one of the escalation points for all projects and promptly highlight any risks and corresponding mitigation steps
  • Host regular application demonstrations, building out documentation to support these activities
Key Skills
  • Project & Programme management – ability to proactively drive and demonstrate the rollout of OTM across businesses and systems as well as supporting individual integration projects
  • Leadership – to support the build out of the newly formed team, it’s processes and the quality of its deliveries
  • Excellent Communications & Influencing Skills – regular conversations will be required with senior CIB business and project leads as well as and ends users
  • Strong Controls Mind-set – will need to consider and communicate data privacy and other compliance factors as well being able to police OTM controls and adoption standards
  • Business Experience and Analytical & Creativity Skills – will need to quickly digest and understand business processes and help propose and push for quality workflow solutions
  • Awareness of the JPM CIB Operations organisation
  • Technical knowledge with some XML and SQL an advantage
 
Qualifications
Candidates must have prior technical and change management experience with program management.  Experience in structured problem solving with an excellent delivery track record required.  Experience in the financial markets is desired. The successful candidate should also possess the following attributes:

  • Strong work ethic, self-starter who is creative with a ‘can-do’ attitude 
  • Ability to execute in a controlled manner, handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently, while maintaining a high degree of communication and escalation
  • Team player comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting-style, unstructured environment
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical problem solving skills – as well as written and verbal communication
  • Quick learner with strong attention to detail
  • Professional maturity, personal integrity, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to receive and act upon feedback
  • High-level of proficiency in MS-Office products (PowerPoint, excel, word)
  • Experience in investment banking  technology and applications
 
Experience Required
4+ Years experience within financial services preferably in a project lead or technology role.
