  • First point of contact and coordination for KVGs (Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaften), their advisors and auditors, and the business for all non-investment related client matters.

  • Ensure client issues are resolved with minimum impact to the client/the business.  This will often involve working cross functionally across a number of departments such as legal, compliance, risk, product areas and attaining “buy in” from the business to meet the clients’ needs.

  • Review and negotiate Investment Management Agreements and all other legal documentation (such as futures account opening documentation, QIB certification etc) in conjunction with the legal department

  • Co-ordinate all aspects of account opening/closing both with clients and internally (i.e. including explaining operational processes & JPM policies to clients, validating client instructions and instructing the business, ensuring all systems are correctly set up etc.)

  • Partner with Product Delivery team who Co-ordinate transitions / re-organisations / custody changes

  • Project Management; Institutional Client Account Management participates in all projects affecting German clients, including system enhancements, product and new procedure developments

  • Obtain and record Know Your Client (KYC) documentation to support Anti-Money Laundering responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with local office Client Account Managers.  Where a function has been delegated liaise with internal departments or external outsourced party to ensure client receives optimal service in all respects

  • Become subject matter expert for the respective region and client type covered. i.e. develop knowledge of local regulations, market constraints and client type specific issues

  • Attend and present at client meetings, audit meetings & new business presentations. This may involve occasional travel.


  • Experience of client account management role/dealing with clients is advantageous
  • Experience of negotiating Investment Management Agreements is advantageous

  • Experience in insurance. DC  or subadvisory business also advantageous

  • Apprenticeship in banking; university/ business school degree is a plus

Professional Profile:

  • Has a good understanding of the asset management structure and various departments

  • Basic understanding of security markets

  • Sound experience in a similar relationship management role ideally with exposure to an international environment

  • Solid knowledge on the German financial and institutional fund industry and the relevant legal structures and regulatory requirements; knowledge of mutual fund industry is a plus

  • Good knowledge on all MS Office products

  • German native speaker with fluent written and spoken English skills
