To enable an efficient experience we are creating a core ‘adoption’ team to assist our developers in migrating applications to the cloud in a consistent and expedited manner, as part of a wider Cloud Engineering function.
 
We require a number of experienced developers to fill the role of Adoption Engineers. This is a highly visible role and will lead to significant transformation across the CIB.
 
The role of the adoption engineer is to work with the developer community in a ‘hands on’ manner to assist in migrating applications to the cloud.  Success for this role is defined by enabling successful adoptions where appropriate controls, automation, and operational processes have been adopted in a consistent manner.

Primary Responsibilities

Cloud Adoption:
  • Understand at detailed level the solution mechanisms required to enable public cloud
  • Understand the our internal cloud offering and what teams need to do to leverage
  • Be an expert in specific areas within cloud services, control mechanisms, SDLC automation, and operational processes
  • Help develop suitable documentation and training for AD teams
  • Evaluate and promote any tooling or scripting to help automate migrations
  • Work interactively with AD team during development phase to demonstrate and implement adoption
  • Highlight any issues or constraints identified by AD teams through adoption phase to help develop our cloud offerings as part of our continuous improvement ethos
  • Bachelor/Masters in computer science/computer/electrical engineering/maths/physics
  • Must be a software engineer and actively writes code at work
  • Hands-on, applied and delivery focused
  • Developer level experience with one of the public clouds:  AWS, Google or Azure, and/or experience with PaaS platforms
  • Be able to engage with senior cloud engineers, highlighting any issues or constraints identified by AD teams and be able to pitch and validate enhancements
  • No need for prior finance experience required (bonus). Non-finance background with cloud or engineering experience is welcomed
  • Be willing to travel within region if required for efficient interaction with AD team at a secondary location
