The J.P. Morgan Advice Lab is an integral part of Wealth Management and is dedicated to developing leading-edge, world class intellectual capital and analytical tools to address unique client challenges for various client segments. Our advice is created and delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of specialists who develop wealth planning strategies, research, tools, and publications. The team currently focuses on Corporate Executive Advisory, Private Business Advisory, Tax Advisory, Estate Disposition Advisory, and Quantitative Research.
 
Primary Function: 
The Executive Director/Managing Director will report directly to the Head of Corporate Executive Advisory. The Executive Director/Managing Director is expected to independently lead conversations with clients, prospects and Centers of Influence on critical subject matters such as maximizing and optimizing compensation and benefits, strategies for single stock positions, employment and severance packages, pre-IPO planning, M&A transactions, leveraged buyouts, employment packages, severance packages, corporate governance and non-qualified/qualified compensation plans.
  • Independently drive new business by leading with advice
  • Contribute and author thought leadership -pieces, leveraging both industry and executive compensation knowledge
  • Collaborate across Advice Lab practices and the firm to develop compensation solutions for executives through wealth transfer modeling and financial planning
  • Coordinate with Wealth Strategists to articulate and prioritize client’s personal goals and then develop and implement a comprehensive investment and balance sheet strategy to achieve these goals
  • Serve as a mentor for junior members of the Corporate Executive Advisory practice
  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred, ideally JD or JD/LLM in tax
  • 10+ years of work experience in the financial services industry in an analytically demanding role, preferably in asset or wealth management, or related specialized professional services firms
  • Knowledge of financial planning, tax, retirement, compensation and wealth advisory strategies and solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of a broad range of financial and investment concepts
  • Hard working with ability to perform under pressure and multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Must convey knowledge and credibility in front of integrated team members, clients and prospective clients
  • Able to gather information through good listening and questioning skills in order to provide strategic advice
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Microsoft Office suite experience required
