The J.P. Morgan Advice Lab is an integral part of Wealth Management and is dedicated to developing leading-edge, world class intellectual capital and analytical tools to address unique client challenges for various client segments. Our advice is created and delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of specialists who develop wealth planning strategies, research, tools, and publications. The team currently focuses on Corporate Executive Advisory, Private Business Advisory, Tax Advisory, Estate Disposition Advisory, and Quantitative Research.
 
Primary Function: 
The Managing Director/Executive Director will be responsible for generating new business, with a focus on UHNW prospects and clients, providing strategic advice and analysis on issues affecting private business owners. Additionally, they will be required to:
  •  Provide thought leadership and expertise to clients and internal partners
  • Discuss transition options and the current market environment
  • Evaluate and/or recommend management succession plans
  • Evaluate and offer guidance on deal terms and structure
  • Advise on pre- and post-transaction planning strategies and integrate within family wealth transfer plans
  • Recommend current and future portfolio construction with consideration of a business as a concentrated position
  • Review and propose corporate and/or family governance structures
  • Review corporate documents including operating and buy-sell agreements and suggest additional best practices
  • Assist in identifying value and/or synergistic opportunities to help business owners obtain the greatest return from their business
  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred, ideally MBA, CFA or JD
  • 10+ years work experience in Legal, Investment Banking, Valuation or Asset Management
  • Must convey knowledge and credibility in front of integrated team members and clients/prospects
  • Superb analytical and quantitative skills (developing a solid grasp of the mathematical principles underlying the models used to develop recommendations for clients)
  • Ability to foster communication in order to provide strategic advice
  • Hard working with ability to multitask and perform under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to travel, approximately 50% of work week
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed
