Commercial Banking (CB), one of JPMorgan Chase & Co’s four lines of businesses, provides a full range of services including lending, treasury services, investment banking, commercial card and asset management products to meet its clients’ domestic and international financial needs. MMBSI Strategy & Innovation
Within CB, Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) serves commercial and industrial U.S. companies with annual revenue from $20 million to $500 million. The MMBSI Strategy & Innovation Team, part of CB Finance & Business Management, is responsible for the management of strategic data initiatives within the Middle Market business and for broad data governance and reporting (MIS), and advanced analysis of business performance. The group offers critical business support to ensure optimal efficiency, performance, and success.
MMBSI Business Analysis Associate
The MMBSI Business Analysis Associate will be responsible for delivering business intelligence solutions, analysis and insights to help monitor business performance and inform business strategy. S/he will interface with key managers and employees across compliance, controls, sales and technology by providing project management support through the development of key business requirements, conducting analysis, and developing reporting in support of mission-critical business initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • a unique mix of technical (MIS and/or business intelligence) and project management skills
    • a strong passion for data and analysis
    • demonstrated experience in advanced analysis tools and techniques, including statistics, data science, and predictive analysis
    • a strong aptitude to develop, refine, and execute analysis to study, understand, and solve complex business problems
    • the ability to distill sophisticated analysis into simple concepts and terms that executives can understand and take action on
    • experience participating or leading large projects to drive operating efficiency

Primary Responsibilities

  • MIS/Business Intelligence/Reporting:
  • Support the analysis and reporting program to help improve overall business performance
  • Ability to access and mine data from multiple sources to feed reporting
  • Define, monitor, and report key performance management metrics; including the production of scorecards, dashboards, business review presentations and models that support analysis at every level of the organization
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests, “what-if” scenario modeling, inquiries, and forecasting
    Project management support:
  • Gather business requirements related to the development of business intelligence, and analytics/MIS operations
  • Track progress and monitor performance against key milestones
  • Manage deliverables and associated data using available tools, such as SharePoint

  • 3-6+ years of total experience within MIS, Analytics, Finance, and/or Project Management roles. 
  • Proficient in Business Intelligence reporting and data visualization toolset including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) (a must), QlikView, QlikSense and Tableau; Advanced-level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, VBA, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts and SQL Server environment (from intake to mastering to analytics); knowledge of T-SQL, SSIS and SAS a plus
  • Prior delivery experience/exposure in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or equivalent is helpful
  • Experience operating within and collaborating across complex environments
  • Experience developing business analysis models
  • Proven experience delivering timely, high quality, senior manager-level reporting and analysis from diverse, complex data sources.  Attention to detail a must with focus on executive quality presentation
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), project management, and client partnership ability
  • BS/BA required; advanced study in data analytics, MIS or business intelligence preferred
