The Dodd-Frank Act requires large, systemically important financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase to submit Board-approved Recovery & Resolution Plans ("RRPs"; a.k.a. Living Wills) to US regulators annually and upon the occurrence of material changes to the Company.  Recovery Plans need to demonstrate how the firm would recover if the firm were to experience significant decreases in capital and liquidity as a result of a severe, crisis event.  Resolution Plans need to demonstrate how JPM would be resolved in an orderly way (i.e., without causing a major market disruption), if the company ever became bankrupt.  These plans are a strategic priority for the firm as failure to produce comprehensive, credible plans could lead to more stringent capital, leverage or liquidity requirements, and ultimately, to possible firm-wide structural/organizational changes. Similar regulatory requirements exist or are in the process of being developed in other European and Asian jurisdictions as well.
JPMorgan Chase is seeking an Associate to join the CAO/Technology Recovery & Resolution planning team in New York City. 
As a member of the CAO/Technology core team, the Associate is responsible for a variety of day-to-day activities in support of the development and ongoing maintenance of global Resolution Plans. 
Primary Responsibilities
  •  Interfacing with and coordinating activities across multiple project work streams spanning all lines of business, functional areas, and geographies. These work streams cover a multitude of discrete Resolution processes and deliverables
  • Assume ownership for assigned Resolution Plan components and interface with resources across the Firm to ensure successful  delivery of assigned plan components
  • Perform data analysis to support Resolution plan content creation and to support management presentations for key committees including the Resolution and Recovery Executive Steering Committee, regulatory bodies, and others
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of assigned deliverables through validating consistency of data and analysis across plans, performing periodic quality reviews to ensure deliverable quality, and engaging with firm-wide quality assurance and audit teams as required
  • Lead Resolution plan enhancement initiatives, as required, through developing relationships across the organization, collaborating to define required work, and driving change as necessary to support effective delivery of identified plan enhancements
  • Track and manage enterprise project deliverables (e.g., status trackers, change logs, etc.) and perform associated project control functions (e.g., project risk management, schedule management, etc.) as required to support successful delivery of assigned plan components
  • Oversee project documentation, proactively identifies changes in work scope, and ensures timely updates to relevant knowledge bases and central repositories
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of current regulatory requirements, Firm Resolution strategies, and evolving requirements


  • Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across a broad organizational landscape in order to ensure alignment of teams to Resolution program objectives
  • Ability to take ownership for assigned deliverables and to proactively manage deliverables to timely completion (escalating when appropriate) in order to ensure objectives are met
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills including the ability to manipulate large amounts of data, the ability to leverage Excel features such as pivot tables and macros to analyze and summarize data, and the ability to clearly draw appropriate conclusions and present findings from data analysis
  • Strong presentation, written and oral communication skills including significant experience creating presentation content for senior audiences and conveying succinct analysis and conclusions in presentation materials.  Strong PowerPoint skills required.  PitchPro experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of project management and competency in project management process (e.g., planning tasks, allocating resources, risk management, issues management, monitoring, controlling, and reporting, change management, etc.) and a technical background sufficient to understand and administer project management and document management systems (e.g, Clarity, SharePoint, Wdesk, etc.)
  • Previous experience in the Operation (OADP), Corporate (CADP) or Consumer (CLDP) programs would be beneficial but not required.
  • Bachelors' degree required
