Finance & Business Management’s goals are to ensure sound control environments and provide financial advice to support the business strategy. Within F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, both financial and regulatory, as well as ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.

 
Business Overview:

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) consists of Banking, Markets & Investor Services.  The Investor Services and Financing businesses represent almost one third of the annual net revenue of Markets & Investor Services and are comprised as follows:

 
  • Custody and Fund Services (externally reported as Securities Services) - is a leading global custodian supporting client’s post trade needs including traditional custody across 100 markets, trust and fiduciary services, traditional fund services, middle office outsourcing and private equity fund services.
  • Prime Finance provides cash and synthetic based product offerings primarily to hedge fund clients through margin loans, leverage and emerging market access products.
  • Derivatives Clearing provides clearing services globally across +70 exchanges and multiple asset classes.
  • Fixed Income Financing provides secured financing solutions to a diverse base of clients including Banks, Broker Dealers, Hedge Funds and Asset Managers as well as supporting the secured financing needs of the CIB trading desks
 
Role Description:

We are looking for a high performing Vice President level individual to own and enhance the operating model governing the Federal Reserve-mandated Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review (“CCAR”) submission for Investor Services & Financing in the Corporate & Investment Bank (“CIB”).

 

They will be responsible for presenting our assessment and findings to the Business and the Corporate Capital Stress Testing team. Additionally, the individual will partner extensively with colleagues within the CIB including Line of Business (LOB) Product Control, Business Management, CIB Treasury Controllers and Planning & Analysis. 

 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Becoming an expert in the Firm’s regulatory CCAR requirements and processes
  • Performing detailed analytics of NII, NIR, Balance Sheet and RWA drivers for both actual and projected activity supplemented by business insight into market and economic variables
  • Partnering with Front Office, Business Managers, Product Controllers to establish forecasting framework specific to each business line
  • Liaising with CIB and Corporate CCAR counterparts to manage deliverables
  • Owning the CCAR segment narrative as it relates to this activity including overview of activity, framework on which assessment is based and key drivers involved in forecasting
  • Designing and implementing a revised operating model which will integrate the CCAR methodologies into business as usual including reporting of actuals and forecasting
 

The position offers good visibility into the core business drivers for each business within Investor Services & Financing, coupled with managing CCAR requirements within the Firm. Additionally, this role provides an opportunity to implement lasting change within the organization.  


Qualifications:

The candidate must be a self starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience, ideally Product Control and/or Financial Control
  • Knowledge of financial products – Futures & Options, Fixed Income, Equities.
  • Knowledge of balance sheet, income statement and basic accounting concepts
  • Ability to work effectively, meet challenging deadlines and to work under pressure
  • Analytical and quantitative aptitude - ability to identify and solve problems independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good communication skills
  • Proactive and willing to accept responsibility
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to work on multiple initiatives with competing deadlines
  • Control mindset (ability to identify and close control gaps and/or issues)
