The CIB Payment Controls Program is being driven by Banking Operations and covers all CIB areas processing wholesale payments. The program was established to:
 
  • Define a framework and governance model for assessing operational risk within the payment flows
  • Mitigate those risks on a prioritized basis
  • Balance risk mitigation with client needs and operational efficiency
  • Align remediation approach and effort with the future state of global payments
 
This strategic, high-visibility program contains 8 workstreams being run by a combination of senior Operations and Technology leads.
 
The position sits within the global Payment Controls Program Management team in Banking Operations. The team is collectively responsible for end-to-end management of the workstreams. The business analyst/project manager role will facilitate delivery of specific workstream requirements and involve project management, business analysis and hands-on contribution to workstream deliverables. The candidate will work closely with Technology, Operations and Product workstream participants, Cybersecurity, Training, Legal, Compliance and other key areas across CIB (Banking, Markets and Investor Services).
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Playing an active role in multiple workstreams, driving progress and contributing to key deliverables
  • Activities include, but are not limited to, research into payment applications and processes, design and documentation of processes and solutions to mitigate risk in the wholesale payments environment, analyzing data, managing meetings and developing functional requirements for new applications.
  • Determine execution owners, timelines and milestones, and develop scorecards for reporting.
  • Monitoring the details and status of project milestones, identifying, escalating and resolving project issues.
  • Establishing quality measures and standards that ensure milestones are met and projects are successfully executed.
  • Reporting workstream and milestone status to the Program Management team and individual workstream teams and ad hoc report requests
  • Integrating with the Payment Controls Program team to ensure alignment with other workstreams and overall program objectives.
 
 
Qualifications
  • Experience in Banking/Treasury Services Operations (preferable) or Technology.
  • Detailed understanding of operational processes and impact of changes on user community. Ability to immediately contribute subject matter expertise
  • Hands-on and detail oriented, with experience doing “deep dives” with subject matter experts; ability to understand the business problems.
  • Understanding of technology and applications that support payment processing
  • Experience planning and coordinating project deliverables.
  • Knowledge of CIB products and the broader organisation
  • Strong presentation skills including generating presentations and effectively communicating to senior management
  • Proven ability to execute data manipulation and analysis in Excel
  • Strong collaborative skills and demonstrated ability to work across functions with project sponsors and balance the needs of multiple stakeholder groups
  • Able to influence stakeholders across operations and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills a must; ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Creative and innovative problem solver, with attention to detail, ability to communicate new ideas, and inspire support
  • Collaborative style with ability to build the appropriate relationships
  • Team player with demonstrably  strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently, driving projects to completion.
  • Ability to be flexible, manage to tight delivery timelines and remain calm under pressure.
  • Very strong performer as evidenced in annual reviews.
All internal moves will normally take place on the same grade and same salary. Salaries are reviewed annually in February. Exceptions to the rule regarding transfer on current salary may include a move between geographic locations.
