This entry-level position (geared to individuals with little or no full-time work experience) is part of The Asset Management Analyst Program and is applicable to individuals who have recently earned a Bachelor’s degree at an accredited school. Though most hires into the Program are recruited through our formal campus recruitment efforts, we sometimes conduct supplemental recruitment of candidates with a similar level of experience and academic achievement as our campus hires. Program Overview: The three-year Analyst Program provides exposure to our multiple business areas within the Private Bank including but not limited to credit and lending, multi-asset class investments, wealth advisory and estate planning. At the end of the program top performing Analysts will have the opportunity to continue onto the next phase at the firm as an Associate. Promotional opportunities within J.P. Morgan are based on our business needs and the Analyst’s performance.


The Role:

The Multi Asset Solutions (MAS) team is part of J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) and has over 45 years of experience in managing multi-asset, multi-manager investment portfolios.  The team primarily invests in proprietary JPMAM strategies to provide customized, cross-asset class solutions to meet the investment management needs of institutional and retail clients.


The client portfolio manager (CPM) Analyst role is critical to the support of the MAS business.  MAS manages more than $200 billion globally across a variety of multi-asset class investment solutions for all different types of investors.  The CPM Analyst is a key member of the team and is expected to support the Senior CPMs in their day-to-day responsibilities of product management, portfolio management, market communications, and client servicing.  Areas of focus will be in the teams’ insurance subadvised space.  Specifically, the role will be a blend of analytical and client reporting work to support the teams largest Subadvisory mandates.  Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of experience in asset management and/or working with insurance clients.   Clear communication skills and a high degree of attention to detail are critical. 


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Internal product manager - support relationships with sales channels; serve as initial point of contact for questions from internal and external client advisors

  • Backup – when client portfolio managers are not in the office, backup is required to ensure full coverage at all times.  This will require fielding calls from relationship managers, sales people and clients and responding appropriately. 

  • Presentation materials - you will be the point person for maintenance and development of client presentations (pitchbooks, portfolio reviews, etc.) as well as marketing materials.  Your input and initiative will be critical as you will be expected to craft creative solutions for varying client needs.  You will be partnering with portfolio managers and CPMs to develop and revise materials as appropriate.

  • Request for Proposals (RFPs) and questionnaires - Responsible for drafting initial responses to client deliverables including RFPs and monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc questionnaires. You will work with client advisors, their sales associates, institutional marketing and RFP writers to craft answers that highlight MAS’s main competitive advantages.

  • Competitive Analysis - gather, analyze, and maintain a warehouse of information about our industry peers and their competitive products.

  • The environment is fast-paced and demanding.  Flexibility and teamwork across various different teams within and outside the product group is required. 

  • No more than two years of work experience following completion of undergraduate program

  • A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2

  • At least one year experience in the financial industry, preferably in Asset Management

  • Ability to deliver results in a timely and accurate manner, frequently under tight deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks are crucial elements in order to succeed in this role. Positive attitude and creative thinking –an ability to take direction from senior team members while recognizing when to challenge the status quo and drive efforts to improve processes

  • Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint: filtering databases, navigating pivot tables, creating and maintaining client presentations

  • Working knowledge of multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income and real estate

  • Strong quantitative aptitude

  • Series 7 & Series 63 are required within 120 days of starting

  • Interest in pursuing CFA is desirable; possible sponsorship after one year

  • Undergraduate degree is required
