The primary objectives of effective liquidity management are to ensure that the firm’s core businesses are able to operate in support of client needs, meet contractual and contingent obligations through normal economic cycles and stress events, ensure funding mix optimization, and availability of liquidity sources.  The Firm manages liquidity and funding using a centralized, global approach in order to optimize liquidity sources and uses for the Firm as a whole, monitor exposures, identify constraints on the transfer of liquidity among legal entities within the Firm, and maintain the appropriate amount of surplus liquidity as part of the Firm’s overall balance sheet management strategy. 


The Corporate Treasury Liquidity Management team focuses on liquidity analysis and support for regulatory coordination, policy interpretation and the Firm’s Resolution and Recovery planning, among other priorities. Given the increased focus on regulation, the team frequently interacts with global regulatory agencies (including the FRB, OCC, FDIC, PRA, and BCBS) in response to various regulatory rulemaking processes and supervisory requirements. This includes interpretation and application of regulatory rules (e.g. US LCR, EBA LCR, FRB 2052a (5G), US NSFR, EBA NSFR, G-SIB STWF and Dodd-Frank Act Recovery and Resolution Planning) that impact liquidity management framework, processes and execution. This involves extensive partnering with stakeholders within the various lines of businesses, Treasury, and other Corporate functions, including Liquidity Risk Oversight, Corporate Capital Planning & Analysis, and Corporate Finance Analytics, among others. There is also significant visibility to senior management, as the team's work products are periodically presented at various management forums including the Board of Directors, and are leveraged for presentations to external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies. The position offers good visibility into various products across the spectrum of banking and capital markets activities as well as the unique opportunity to understand firm initiatives from a holistic perspective.





As a member of this team, the individual is expected to play a key role executing on a variety of deliverables around the development, maintenance and continued enhancement of firmwide liquidity analytics and reporting initiatives, in direct support of liquidity regulatory requirements as well as Resolution and Recovery planning initiatives. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop a deep understanding of, and be instrumental in supporting the firm’s readiness on new and proposed liquidity regulations and reporting requirements associated with one or more of US LCR, EBA LCR, FRB 2052a (5G), US NSFR, EBA NSFR, G-SIB STWF and Dodd-Frank Resolution and Recovery Planning activities
  • Interact and partner with the lines of business and other corporate functions on evaluating interpretation of liquidity regulations
  • Lead and participate in ad-hoc projects for senior management on regulatory initiatives, as called upon from time to time
  • Engagement with regional teams in Latin America, EMEA and APAC on regulatory rule interpretation and associated implementation in liquidity reporting, as necessary
  • Engagement with external stakeholders such regulatory agencies in the course of the supervisory review process, including regarding rule interpretations and reporting that impact liquidity management framework, processes and execution
  • Review and approve new business initiatives to ensure the liquidity profile is acceptable and within the firm’s liquidity risk appetite
  • 5+ years of financial industry experience (preferred focus on one or more of liquidity management, balance sheet, business analysis, risk management or treasury experience)
  • Bachelor's degree required in Finance or Accounting
  • Prior knowledge of financial regulations is preferred, although not required
  • Proven ability to learn complex topics quickly
  • Very strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration, organizational and execution skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and bring tasks to complete closure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight but who can also be an effective team member
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Experience with VBA preferred
