Overview
A critical priority for Asset Management is to ensure that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our clients' needs. The Asset Wealth Management(AWM) Chief Data Office (CDO) was established in 2014 to define AWM's data strategy and support for the core data used across AWM and needed to run our business, such as client data, reference data, product data, securities and pricing data, transactions and holdings, and index data. The AWM CDO is positioned in the Asset Wealth Management Operations division, within AWM Center.  We work with the AWM business and Firm wide CDO to analyze data, ensure data governance and data quality standards are in place, look for efficiencies in business processes, and work with our technology partners to implement solutions.
 
The Data Governance Lead will be part of the Data Governance team which is driving the implementation and adoption of Firm wide data management standards, strategic data sources, strategic data governance and data operating procedures across Asset Wealth Management to deliver quality data to the business. Data Governance manages the agenda across business term lifecycle management, data quality management and information governance, The Data Governance Lead creates and manages the executive presentations to the AWM DMC, and executive forums.
 
The Data Governance Lead will contribute to and collaborate with the firmwide data management team to create and evolve standards, procedures and tooling, and drive the adoption in Asset Wealth Management. In addition they are accountable for the management of the Firmwide data domains for which Asset Management is accountable. The Data Governance Lead guides the Data Executives and broader data management community in Asset Management, and advocates data adoption in AWM by engaging SMEs, operations, technology, risk, and control functions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Data Governance end to end from business term lifecycle management to data quality issue management
  • Advocate for Data Governance in Asset Wealth Management
  • Responsible for Asset Wealth Management Data Governance book of work and program management
  • Rollout data governance processes across Asset Wealth Management
  • Develop key metrics and reporting that include key messages, control and operational effectiveness, and overall status
  • Prepare presentations and materials for stakeholder reviews, project team meetings, leadership reviews, Asset Wealth Management Data Management Council, AWM Data Governance Metrics Review
  • Manage escalated issues that have not been resolved to the business satisfaction
  • Solicit input from business constituents and achieve long-term strategic solutions for business partners
  • Manage key partnerships with key stakeholders including FW data management, AWM Lines of Business, Technology and Corporate Functions
  • 5-10 years in Financial Services or Consulting in complex program and Stakeholder management
  • 5 or more years of experience in Data Governance covering data quality management and metrics, and business term metadata management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Asset and Wealth Management data like  client information, instruments and transaction information
  • Knowledge and experience in data privacy, operations, and technology functions preferred
  • Excellent management and delivery skills
  • Demonstrated track record of a high level of personal initiative and leadership, and of setting and achieving challenging goals.

  • Advanced skills with the core MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); Advanced skills with standard PM tools (e.g. MS Project); Familiarity with process-mapping tools (e.g. MS Visio, etc.)
