Job Description:
JPMorgan Private Banking is a global wealth management leader that delivers the highest quality advice, service, capabilities and products to high net worth individuals and families in 36 countries around the world.  Private Banking addresses every facet of wealth management from investment management and brokerage to tax and estate planning, credit, capital raising, and specialty wealth advisory services.  The New York Finance team provides finance support to 5 Private Banking markets based in NYC.  The BFM will be responsible for a broad range of finance and business management responsibilities supporting the PB front office in both of these regions.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
US Private Banking CFO team is looking for an energetic, analytical, and strategic Business Finance Manager (BFM) to provide local business management and finance oversight for the New York Markets within the US Private Bank.  The BFM will act as the strategic partner to Market Leadership, working closely with Senior Management and Front Office Advisors in fast-paced team environment.  Key responsibilities include financial analysis and projections, market growth strategies, business review presentations, sales management processes, and project management with interface for office management and real estate topics.  The BFM will also have the opportunity to lead broader regional and national projects working closely with the Region Heads, Regional Investment Practice Team Leaders, and U.S. CFO.  The candidate will be based in New York City.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Planning:
•      Partner with Regional CFO and Regional/Market Leadership to develop strategic market plans
•      Develop and present strategic insights about the markets and regions covered
•      Align market goals and objectives to national priorities and initiatives
•      Act as thought partner to Market Leadership on key business decisions
 
Financial and Information Management:
  • Interpret financial results and communicate financial messages to management and sales teams
  • Conduct analyses to understand business drivers, uncover trends, and identify opportunities to improve results
  • Manage financial planning and forecasting processes and monitor performance against plan
  • Facilitate management decisions by providing timely and accurate information on business performance and profitability
  • Partner with regional CFO to prepare for business reviews with senior management
  • Drive disciplined expense management
  • Research and resolve data issues and answer reporting questions from Bankers and Investors
  • Work with Market Leadership to assess talent, using a metrics-driven approach, and develop and track against hiring targets
 
Sales Management:
  • Develop robust sales management processes and toolkits for Market Manager
  • Liaise with client service leadership to ensure ongoing efficiency
  • Escalate and / or resolve client issues; track and measure recurring themes for systemic issues and opportunities
  • Manage client segmentation strategies and monitor results
  • Assist with meeting management and agenda setting
 
Project Management:
  • Provide disciplined project management on ad hoc projects; coordinate initiatives which have sales force and/or client impact
  • Partner with Regional CFO, Region Head, and Regional ITL to identify, propose, and achieve funding for investments and performance improvement initiatives
  • Own real estate strategy and logistics in conjunction with Real Estate team and perform space planning
  • Partner with local administrative support to ensure efficient processes for local office management
Risk Management:
  • Ensure proper discipline around risk management procedures and regulatory requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Finance experience including budgeting, forecasting, modeling, interpreting results, and identifying drivers and trends
  • Outstanding relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive, strategic thinker
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Client focused with a tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft Access a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • College degree; MBA a plus
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience
  • Specific industry related experience preferred
