Commercial Banking (CB), one of JPMorgan Chase & Co’s four lines of businesses, provides a full range of services including lending, treasury services, investment banking, commercial card and asset management products to meet its clients’ domestic and international financial needs. Through a network of 125 offices and approximately 8,500 employees, CB serves over 19,000 clients nationally, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit entities, with annual revenue generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion, and over 37,000 real estate clients, owners and investors. MMBSI Strategy & Innovation
Within CB, Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) serves commercial and industrial U.S. companies with annual revenue from $20 million to $500 million. The MMBSI Strategy & Innovation Team, part of CB Finance & Business Management, is responsible for the management of strategic data initiatives within the Middle Market business and for broad data governance and reporting (MIS), and advanced analysis of business performance. The group offers critical business support to ensure optimal efficiency, performance, and success.

Business Decision and Analytics Lead
The MMBSI Business Decision and Analytics Lead will be responsible for
  • Driving excellent framing and communication of ideas to executive leadership using compelling quantitative and qualitative reasoning
  • Leveraging Data Science and Predictive Analytics and delivering business intelligence solutions.
  • Interfacing with key managers and employees across compliance, controls, sales, and technology as well as other partners. 
  • Provide leadership across projects from inception to completion using as-needed aspects of the analytical process including data mining and modeling.
  • Solving critical business problems by utilizing all applicable quantitative knowledge, statistical techniques and related tool sets.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong passion for data science and analytics, and an ability to drive efforts using analytics, statistics, and project management skills
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to distill sophisticated analysis into simple concepts and terms that executives can take action on
  • Experience participating or leading large data-driven analytics projects to drive operating efficiency
  • Experience managing projects and analytics efforts of various sizes and ensuring accurate and timely data gathering and the delivery of insights
  • The ability to access and mine data from multiple sources, and experience integrating data streams into BI tools
  • Lead efforts to gather, mine, and merge data from multiple sources
  • Support the analytics, business intelligence, and reporting program  to help improve overall business performance
  • Drive the development of uses cases for advanced data science across MMBSI, and turn those use cases into tangible products implemented in day-to-day business
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests, including “what-if” scenario modeling, inquiries, and forecasting
  • Interface across multiple functions to determine business needs, and drive analytical progress
  • Track progress and monitor performance against key milestones
  • Oversee Business Intelligence reporting and data visualization implementation, including QlikView, QlikSense and Tableau for analytics and other related efforts to monitor organizational performance and outcomes
  • Continually evaluate new analytic and big data techniques and technologies by staying current on emerging trends in financial services and other industries
  • Ph.D. or Masters in STEM field
  • 3-6 years industry experience in financial services or consumer-facing organizations
  • Demonstrated expertise with SQL, including data manipulation (SAS, R)
  • Prior experience with advanced statistical methods; clustering, decision trees, regression/predictive modeling
  • Experience leveraging ‘Big Data’ tools (Hadoop, Hive, Python)
  • Proven experience delivering timely, high quality, senior manager-level reporting and analysis from diverse, complex data sources.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), project management, and client partnership ability
