Why join?
This is a fascinating time, as new technologies, analytics and business models are emerging with the potential to radically transform financial services. You will be at the leading edge inside the company driving change. You will:
  • Create impact in one of the world’s largest financial services organizations by building new design and data capabilities, and driving new data products for corporate clients who are seeking data-driven insight.
  • Bring together design and analytics. You will work with teammates who have the experience, talent, and skills to create data products. You will represent a different way of working -human-centered - iterative -collaborating in small multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through discovery research, synthesis, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts, providing a strategic lens that includes the overarching customer experience, product portfolio, roadmap, business case, etc. You will use your design experience and skills to rethink and reinvent the business model of Treasury Services with data.
  • Practice the craft of design strategy. Your design skills will be partnered with data analytic skills to drive the right kind of decision-making from solution concepting into data modeling into technical development.
  • Design Strategy Expertise: 7+ years of experience working with the design strategy process. You will need to know the process and design methods from beginning to end.
  • You should know what it takes to independently lead and accomplish large-scale projects in action-oriented steps; specifically facilitating innovation and group collaboration processes and developing new products, services or experiences.
  • Experience developing B2B products, serving international markets a plus.

Cognitive and Communications Skills

  • General ability to root out fundamental issues, synthesize elegant conceptual frameworks, and drive to clear decisions.
  • Consulting experience from a strategic design consultancy is highly desired. You should be able to scope a design strategy project based on conversations with internal partners and plan out the appropriate methods and activities to arrive at the project goals and outputs; and also then work with the data partners to integrate data science methodologies into the project process.
  • Visual Thinking Skills – Ability to draw a framework, visualize a process diagram, visually record a meeting on the white board, ideate a new data product, and think through potential graphic layouts. Ability to think visually and demonstrate abstract concepts
Leadership Skills
  • Primary focus of building something of significance. This is a content role, where you will be creating content, not just directing teams. You should be able to lead by doing, everything from crafting a research plan, to conducting interviews, to analyzing data, to ideating solutions, to building prototypes, and getting customer feedback.
  • You should be adept at engaging and managing high-level clients, project partners, stakeholders with ease, enthusiasm, confidence, and candor; especially helping them understand the principles behind human-centric design methods.

Domain Expertise
  • Not necessary, but an aptitude and interest in quickly developing nuanced understanding of JPM products, markets, customers, and competitors. You’ll need to be frontstage ready with your design expertise and able to present a new way of thinking about the customer using new methodologies. This is an incredible opportunity for hybrid thinkers that love to learn and synthesize, in a supportive and high-performing culture.
Education
  • Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree. A design related degree is highly desired.
