Technology Change & Release Manager - VP
Commercial Banking Technology is seeking an experienced Technology Change & Release Manager.  As the lead of the Change & Release Management team, this candidate will define the strategy of Change Management in a Continuous Delivery environment, a software engineering approach that aims at building, testing, and releasing software faster, more frequently, and more reliably to provide a more secure and stable technology operating environment for our organization.
This candidate will be responsible for defining and improving the model to promote frequent and successful changes to production while ensuring the organization operates within the guidelines of the Firmwide Change Management process.
This candidate should have knowledge of the controlled SDLC model and the tools necessary for successful delivery into production.  The candidate should be familiar with enterprise changes could cause impact to an application, such as network, storage, and server class systems.
As CB’s subject matter expert, this candidate will help drive general hygiene, leverage metrics to drive desired behaviors, and identify opportunities to improve the Change process and enforce compliance. 
The Change & Release Manager will have oversight and accountability for the responsibilities of the overall team which are constantly evolving.  This includes:
  • Reference data updates, e.g. application on boarding, and linking application to approver groups in the Change Management system.
  • Ad hoc training to users of the Firmwide Change Management tool and Process.
  • Ongoing reviews of owned and impacted change requests for adherence to best practice guidelines to ensure there are not impacts to the organization.
  • Coordination of the Air Traffic Control calendar to mitigate event collisions/issues events due to enterprise or intra-business conflicts
  • UAT for enhancements made to the Change Management tools (ITSM, PDPA, and Continuous Delivery); perform post validation testing after production releases.
  • Standard processes for: ITSM change records; stakeholder tasks and expectations; and pre-event playbook QC reviews.
  • Strong relationships with Service Delivery Managers/RTS/GTI resources to help drive deployment predictability and quality.
  • Coordination across the  delivery teams in support of release testing cycle
The Change & Release Manager is a team player, willing to roll-up their sleeves when needed, and will lead and influence parties involved in the technology and delivery of the Change Management systems and SDLC process.
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum of five years’ experience in an IT Service Management, IT Project Management, Infrastructure/Application Support or Application Development role – required.
    • A minimum of three years in the financial services market, preferably across various technology businesses and functions.
    • Familiar understanding of the organization.
    • College degree or equivalent experience
    Key Skills / Experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - required.
    • Strong working knowledge of MS products, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
    • Experience managing complex technology deployments.
    • Proven experience leading within a cross line of business technology organization, empowering people, building rapport, garnering respect and appropriately exercising authority in a collaborative cross-cultural environment
    • •Demonstrated relationship management skills with the ability to build strong relationships across the all levels of the organization.
    • Strong influential skills with the ability to ensure processes are followed and stakeholders are engaged in issues that may not be their priority
    • Demonstrated ability to create a collaborative environment and work through conflict to find appropriate solutions to key issues
    • Must have working knowledge of the firm’s Change, Problem, and Incident Management processes
    • Functional knowledge of Cloud computing
    • Functional knowledge of DevOps and the Continuous Delivery model
    • Must have technical understanding of automation in a controlled SDLC environment, including automated testing, orchestration, and deployments
