The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

 

Overview

 

Finance & Business Management’s goals are to ensure sound control environments and provide financial advice to support the business strategy. Within F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, both financial and regulatory, as well as ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.


Position Description


The Finance Manager will be part of the Financial Reporting team that provides a horizontal function across Equities, Derivatives FX and Securities Processing technology, including Reporting and Expense Analytics, Communication of Agenda and Delivery, and Strategic Planning and Control.  The role will involve regular interaction with senior management across Technology, Tech Product Control, Finance & Business Management, Controllers and Front Office Stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and drive the annual planning process across Equities, Derivatives FX and Securities Processing through engagement with various stakeholders
  • Provide reporting, communication of agenda and expense analysis and drivers across the organization
  • Provide executive-level presentations and management reporting on budget, project delivery, controls, risk and delivery
  • Partner with Controllers and Tech Product Control to provide transparency around expense volatility
  • Drive reporting standardization / simplification across the organization by centralizing processes and procedures across the organization
  • Adhoc projects as needed
  • Minimum Education
    • Bachelor degree
  • Desirable Education (i.e. CPA, MBA, CFA)
    • MBA and/or Masters Certificate a plus
  • Minimum years of experience within Financial Services/CIB, etc.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience with strategic financial analysis for global organizations
  • Advanced MS Office (PowerPoint and Excel) skills required
  • Product knowledge
  • Interpersonal/communication skills (i.e. organization, influencing, presentation)
  • Must have a collaborative and participative style.  Professionalism, sensitivity, discretion and sound decision-making skills coupled with the ability to interact at senior executive levels are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi task and drive the agenda under pressure
  • Must be a confident leader, possessing a strength of personality and intellect to gain the respect of demanding business heads and senior management team
  • Other desirable areas of experience/knowledge
  • Nice to have: Qlikview, Access DB and/or VB Macro skills
