The Enterprise Compute Services (ECS) organization within GTI plays a critical role in providing and supporting global enterprise systems that host business applications at the core of JPMorgan Chase’s business.  These applications support the full range of businesses at the firm including wholesale, high volume consumer, and high net worth clients.
 

 

Role Description

"This position will be a member of Enterprise Computing Service’s Level III Technical Support team. This individual will have responsibility for day-to-day support of Mainframe Automation.

The position will work closely with multiple GTI teams to ensure high mainframe systems availability. This high energy, results-oriented job requires a solid understanding OPS/MVS 7 Rexx Coding Skills to automate soluctions in a large scale environment, a high degree of technical skill and the capacity to quickly gain an understanding of the business processes of multiple Lines of Business.

Responsibilities

Key Functional Responsibilities

  Provide stable mainframe network support for ECS Infrastructure

  Product installations, customization and evaluation.

  Maintenance/Development of existing/new automation rules and scripts.

  Manage & Support Automation Products – OPS/MVS

  Support IPL/DR activities. 

  Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures

Key Operational Responsibilities

  Use performance reports/metrics to identify process/availability improvement opportunities

  Research and assess new technology for potential deployment

  Conduct change inspections; determine associated risks and readiness for implementation

  Capacity to quickly gain an understanding of the business processes of multiple Lines of Business

  Work schedule flexibility is a requirement as is the ability to adapt to an ever-changing business environment. Customer     Satisfaction and providing high systems availability are the priorities of this position

  Provide regular management reports / analysis to senior management team regarding Automation Incidents, Changes and requests

  Implement appropriate tools and processes to automate repeated tasks

  Project management, planning skills and the capability to utilize the MS Office suite of products

 

Key Interfaces:

  Interpersonal and communications skills are essential as the person will spend the majority of the time working in a team environment interacting with other towers like Software Group, Automation, etc.,

  Participate / Mentor  zU Candidates, an ECS Initiative.

  Participate in Team Meetings – Global & Virtual Meeting.

  Complete Training Classes assigned on time to meet the development plans.

  Provide suggestions for improving process and work practices to provide better quality and/or efficiencies

Minimum 5 years experience as Mainframe Automation Engineer.
