Job Description- CIB Tech – Workforce and Vendor Management – Location Strategy


CIB Technology Workforce & Vendor Management is an integral function within CIB Technology Transformation responsible for scoping and driving a cohesive multi-year workforce plan to provide CIB Technology with an effective balance of appropriately skilled staff to maximize enterprise value. The group supports CIB Technology leaders with development of their workforce strategy and supporting change management activities based on operating principles aligned to primary business drivers (technology, target operating model / transformation, controls / operations and productivity initiatives) as a basis for a management framework to drive execution and enable clear communication to key stakeholders (including our staff).


Our workforce management function is organized around 5 key dimensions; Talent & Capability, Location Strategy & Centers of Excellence (COE), Organizational design, Sourcing strategy and Financial Transparency & Efficiency.


We are currently seeking a candidate who can drive execution of location strategy across our CIB Technology organization - which includes ensuring there are cohesive location plans and targets, skills availability, team sustainability & emerging talent pipeline. The candidate will work directly for the CIB Location Strategy/ COE Lead and have regular engagement with senior management of CIB Technology, HR / Recruiting, Finance & Business Management, Global Real Estate functions and other CIB lines of business.


The candidate should have a proven multi-year track record in business partnership, governance and a disciplined approach.  They will have strong client management skills, executive-level communication skills, ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions to those problems. Previous experiences in driving both strategic and tactical process improvement initiatives and/or management consulting project experience are highly desirable. A background in workforce management and / or banking operations and technology is preferred but not mandatory.



Key responsibilities:

o    Capability Mapping to CTO Groups and Applications – document, review and validate capability mapping per CTO group. Create target city/CoE mappings and migration plans

o    Key location - agreement for roles required for migration, document migration and hiring plans and undertake capacity assessment per CoE target location

o    Develop plans to link CLS Submissions to location strategy.

o    Data analysis – Assessment and consolidation of current state of job family and function data, work with HR to identify recommendations,

o    Document weekly status updates, scorecards and project/milestone tracking

Skills/ experience required:
  • Experience in the financial services industry highly desired
  • Advanced degree from top-tier institution
  • Significant experience working in global teams across multiple regions and countries, enabling a ‘one team’ culture and a positive working environment, respecting the cultures and capabilities across locations. 
  • Exceptional experience and proven track record in stakeholder management and partnership
  • Proven leadership in establishing goals, metrics and driving and tracking optimization opportunities by creating a continuous improvement culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including ability to communicate effectively with Senior Managing Directs to CEO-1 level.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
