The Firmwide Regulatory Reporting & Analysis (FRRA) team resides within Corporate Finance. The group is responsible for the execution and delivery against the Firm’s regulatory reporting requirements to its U.S. regulators.   The team has end-to-end responsibility for US regulatory reporting and capital stress testing, including the design, implementation, and oversight of the execution, analysis, control and governance frameworks.  Its mandate includes determining the appropriate investment in people, processes and technology to improve the accuracy, completeness and consistency of the Firm’s US regulatory reporting and capital stress testing submissions, as well as the implementation of new requirements and guidelines as they are published.

 

The objectives of the FRRA Team are to provide leadership on all aspects of US regulatory reporting and Firmwide capital stress-testing, including both internal and regulatory requirements.

 

The Strategic Initiatives Team is involved in multiple programs. First and foremost is the implementation of Axiom as the primary US regulatory reporting application and an integral component of the Finance and Risk Roadmap. Second is the automation of tools to enhance governance and controls required for US regulatory reporting.  Examples of these tools include ASAP (Automated Strategic Attestation Platform (ASAP), Instructional Change Assessment Tool, Interpretive Questions Tool, and the implementation of a “one-stop” shop External Reporting portal.

 

In addition to these programs, the team partners closely with Risk and Finance Technology (RFT) to implement technical platform initiatives including testing automation, transition to Agile and the implementation of the JIRA toolset, among others.  

 
Core responsibilities:
  • Serve as liaison between Business Project Management, RFT (Risk and Finance Technology) and report and schedule owners
  • Drive the execution of or execute any phase of the project lifecycle (business requirements, design, user acceptance testing, etc.).
  • Drive the delivery of or deliver core project deliverables as required – charter, plans, business requirements, functional specifications, user acceptance test plans, status reporting, training, etc.
  • Drive the execution of or execute user acceptance test scripts ensuring that testing results meet business expectations
  • Ensure there is full traceability of documented business requirements and solution design elements through documented test cases
  • Ensure that projects are delivered with the expected levels of “controls” – reconciliation, operating models, completion of standard operating procedures, etc.
  • Ensure that off-shore resources are leveraged as applicable across all initiatives
  • Accurately document, manage, and communicate project issues, risks, and action items
  • Hold project status meetings specific for report and schedule owners to focus on areas that impact the business such as risks and issues, action items, etc.
  • Provide feedback and lessons learned on project execution and project team performance
  • Support ongoing Axiom project releases

Background and Skillset Requirements:
  • Experience with leading projects through all phases of a software development lifecycle
  • Experience with the implementation of processes and controls
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, able to lead a team through significant change
  • Ability to resolve conflict and facilitate decision-making
  • Ability to quickly understand complex subject matter and propose viable solutions
  • Ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Has initiative and accountability – must be a self-starter and able to build and manage relationships across locations
  • Clear and concise oral / written communication skills
  • Strong written / verbal presentation skills
  • Reasoned and balanced decision-maker
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Knowledge of, or direct experience in, Axiom (reporting tool) a plus
  • Knowledge of, or direct experience in, external reporting a plus
  • Knowledge of, or direct experience in, Agile and JIRA a plus
  • Familiarity with the JPM Global Finance Organization a plus
