J.P. Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank Technology’s Strategy and Organizational Engagement team is part of the Governance and Portfolio Management, which is a newly formed cross-functional team across CIB Technology. The team is responsible for driving integration in CIB Technology’s structure and to ensure greater consistency and alignment with the Business & Technology strategy. Key functional areas of the team include: management of the office of the CIO, Strategy Development, Organizational Engagement, Governance, Portfolio Management, Workforce Evolution and Vendor management.

We’re looking for a CIO Enablement Associate with demonstrated experience in Technology consulting and or strategy; preferably with experience in Financial Services and/or Investment Banking. The role will be responsible for CIO Executive level activities, such as stakeholder management and co-ordination of key leadership & strategy meetings.

Successful candidates should have about 3-5 years’ experience in Consulting and Strategy though we value those with the right skill sets more than the length of time you’ve worked. You should enjoy handling complexity, and be able to wade through it until simple solutions emerge. We are lean and agile, and look for people who thrive in this work style.

The role is based in London, UK.
Key responsibilities:
  • Support the management of key strategy forums and leadership meetings including CIB Technology Council, CIB Technology Operating Committee and CIB Tech Strategy Sessions
  • Support the development of a forward agenda and curation of material for CIO Executive level activities and events, including quarterly offsites, external events, industry events and ad-hoc executive presentations
  • Create consistent and compelling story lines with the overarching goal of making the CIO successful in all facets of the job including supporting the management of key senior level stakeholder, business leads and clients
  • Support the management of group build out activities (including program management and reporting, action management and interface with F&BM for financial forecasting/planning activities)
  • Support cross-functional program management and data analysis responsibilities (production and program management of diversity metrics & reporting, interface to HR for promotion process, succession planning and mobility)
Skills required:
  • Demonstrated experience in Technology consulting and or strategy; preferably in Financial Services and/or Investment Banking
  • Problem solving skills - Candidate must demonstrate the ability to identify key issues, gather and analyse data to support hypotheses and develop actionable recommendations
  • Analytical skills - Candidate must be highly analytical with experience in collecting, analysing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources using Excel
  • Project management skills - Candidate must be able to manage multiple work streams, create workable work stream plans and execute on such plans
  • Client management skills - Candidate must demonstrate the ability to closely partner with senior managers and other stakeholders on projects
  • Communications skills - Candidate must possess excellent written and oral executive-level communications skills
  • Teamwork skills - Candidate must be flexible in his/her work style and be able to work with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels
  • An eye for clean and artful design and presentations
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter who is creative with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and other Office applications
