Objectives of the Risk team:

The WM Risk Management team is responsible for providing independent risk oversight to the business.  The Risk team partners with the business to identify, mitigate and monitor risks in products or services provided to clients.  The team also seeks to identify and mitigate reputation risks and to build a culture of client-focused risk awareness within WM.


WM seeks to deliver positive risk-adjusted returns appropriate to our clients’ financial goals and risk tolerances, as well as offer an exceptional breadth and depth of wealth management disciplines within our company, including investments, estate planning, credit, philanthropy and banking. We deliver our services through a team of specialists in a tailored, advice-based manner to each client, use J.P. Morgan-affiliated managers and third-party managers and communicate closely with clients to keep them constantly informed about the changing landscape.


WM Capital Markets Credit Risk: The mission of the team is to support the growth of the lending, trading and derivatives business in Wealth Management through the development and application of risk analytics for Capital Markets products, assuring adherence to appropriate risk standards agreed by the Head of Credit in WM.  The ideal candidate will partner with colleagues across WM (Risk, Sales and Trading, Finance) to ensure appropriate transparency of the risk governance framework.


The candidate may also work closely with CIB Credit Risk Management in order to leverage wholesale practices.


Responsibilities include:

·         Establish Haircuts/Initial margin on global securities and derivatives using approved methodologies

·         Review new markets/products and suggest analytical improvements as appropriate.  Partner with business and technology to adapt to new products, business initiatives, and market conditions

·         Perform stress tests and other risk analyses on securities and derivatives portfolios.  Analyze and communicate results to credit executives and business colleagues

·         Enhance analytics and processes to strengthen risk management framework



·         Bachelors Degree – Finance/Economics or quantitative fields preferred

·         Strong quantitative skills – experience with statistical analysis preferred

·         Interest in Capital Markets and related products

·         Ability to work independently and to multitask

·         Familiarity with VaR, CVA, derivatives valuation and risk drivers
