Job Description:
The Business Analyst (BA) will be part of the Account Corrections group within the Card Services function, whose primary role is to correct harm to customer accounts caused by a business or operational process break.  These breaks can present complex, multilayered, and data intensive business problems.  Typically these problems will be of an unstructured nature, whereby the BA will be expected to quickly assess and comprehend the situation, and develop a practical approach/strategy for the solution.
The Business Analyst is part of a team accountable for analyzing issues, identifying the impacts, defining account correction requirements, defining, staging and executing the specific transactions and/or customer communications associated with correction cases.  The BA will work closely with the PM, Corrections Analyst (developer), and directly with other senior member of the business to develop the Corrections Requirements Document and Correction Execution Plan that collectively detail how each correction requirement will be executed.  The BA will also create/manage other artifacts such as financial impact summaries, customer communications, etc.  This individual will also assist the testing and execution teams throughout the execution of the correction.
This role requires extensive interaction with business stakeholders and cross-functional groups. The candidate must possess strong communication, problem solving, and reasoning skills. 
Roles / Responsibilities
  • Work Closely with Business and/or Process Owners to define and document the account correction requirements
  • Create a detailed correction execution plan defining the corrections steps, both from a requirements and technical definition perspective
  • Create or manage other account correction case artifacts such as financial impact summaries and formal requirements documentation
  • Work closely with a Project Manager and Account Correction Analyst to define the project schedule
  • Obtain Business approval on several key process documents (i.e. Execution Plan, Test Plan, Financial summaries, etc.)
  • Ensure complete compliance with all documentation, risk, and process control requirements
  •  Qualifications:
    • 3 to 5 years experience in a business analyst role, or the equivalent
    • 3 to 5 years experience in a technical writing role, or the equivalent
    • A working knowledge of SQL is preferred
    • Above average expertise in Excel
    • Must possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
    • Must possess strong analytical skills
    • Must be detailed and quality oriented
    • Must possess strong process adherence discipline as it is critical that throughout the account correction process, detailed process control procedures and documentation must be followed and completed, for which the Business Analyst is primarily accountable
    • Must be able to work multiple problems simultaneously and typically the Business Analyst will be assigned three to five projects concurrently
