The Firmwide Planning & Analysis Group is responsible for partnering within the business and across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, central oversight and coordination of firm wide budgeting and forecasting, macroeconomic scenario design and distribution, and strategic program management and execution including the new Firmwide Forecasting Framework.  This includes oversight for firm wide reporting across all four lines of business (LOB): Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB), Asset Management (AM), Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) and Commercial Bank (CB). 
Additionally, P&A helps drive and improve automation, simplification of processes and the enhancement of analytics.

 

These roles primarily support the strategic analysis of our financial planning framework. Along with working closely with LOB teams and functions as it relates to routine reporting, as well as ad-hoc analysis and due diligence.

 
Job Description

The FP&A FinTech BI Engineer is expected to play an integral role in development of financial and analytical reporting systems working collaboratively with a dedicated Technology and Operations team. The candidate can expect to have exposure to senior leaders across Corporate and Line of Businesses. The candidate must have finance experience with some project management skills and a technical IT background. Projects will include financial systems workflow, reporting and business integrations. The candidate must possess excellent relationship management skills and have the ability to work across all levels of the organization.

 
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Contribute in developing financial system  reporting infrastructure for analytic  reporting strategy  including design, testing, distribution, and user training
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Finance, Technology and Operations staff to develop reporting/dashboarding and workflow solutions to support the current FP&A group and Lines of Businesses
  • Accountable for all phases of Reporting development process – analysis, design, construction, testing and implementation in agile development lifecycles.
  • Collaborate with business partners to analyze user stories, ensuring they are clear, concise, and technically feasible.
  • Translate user stories into innovative solutions that provide an excellent client experience
  • Prepare detailed technical designs that account for security, resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Code, test, debug, implement, and support complex financial applications.
  • Strive for continuous improvements of our processes, application designs, and application execution.
  • Collaborate with onshore/offshore contract resources, ensuring adherence to our processes and standards.
  • Remain abreast of emerging BI technologies.
  • Assist in managing Cognos financial reports including Systems/Integrations testing and UAT (familiarity with at least one vendor BI tools – OBIEE, Tableau, Qlikview, Cognos is a must have)
  • Role requires close partnership with senior level IT, Operations,  Risk, and Finance staff

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of financial solutions systems, software development and  project management experience
  • Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Must have developed and maintained reports in at least one major Reporting tool (Tableau, Cognos, OBIEE, Qlikview, etc.)
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Must have exposure to multidimensional systems such as Hyperion Essbase as well as Oracle PL/SQL
  • Should be familiar with: Unix, Data Warehousing, JAVA, Hadoop Data Store or any other Big Data architecture
  • Good to have skills OLAP cubes – metadata, hierarchies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including strong Excel, VBA and Visio skills
  • Familiarity with Financials (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.)
  • Proven experience of working in cross-functional organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Highly motivated, self directed
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
