Job Description:
Systems Overview - what are Kapital and Athena?
  • Risk Management Systems used by the Global Rates Business, Global Currencies and Emerging Markets Business.
  • Support a diverse range of products, from Interest Rate Swaps to complex Exotics and Hybrids Structures.
  • Manages the full lifecycle of the trade, from booking to feeding to Confirmation and Settlement systems.
  • Produces risk used by the Trading desk to manage their positions.
  • Calculates Official P&L for the trading desk every day.
  • Also produces Market and Credit Risk and many regulatory reports and reconciliations.
  • Written in Smalltalk and Python and use object databases

Skills and Requirements
 
 
You'll need to have:
  • Proficiency in any Object Orientated language (Java, C#, C++, Smalltalk, Python)
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Motivation to learn and ask questions to produce the best technology solutions
  • Some exposure to Financial Services, preferably in Investment Banking
 
We'd love to see:
  • Large scale system development experience
  • Knowledge of design patterns
  • Knowledge of Derivatives
  • Smalltalk or Python development experience
  • Object database experience
