CCB Risk
Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others
This role will serve as chief economist on geography and industry risks for Home Lending Risk Management. In particular, the role will focus on strategies and analytics that provide value added insights to risk and business managers. Chase is the second largest mortgage originator and servicer in the US and strategies in this space are driven significantly by analytics and the conclusions derived by this work. This role will interact with senior management and partners within Home Lending and CCB Risk Management.
  • Research local real estate market trends for key markets to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Communicate key housing and macro-economic trends to broader Home Lending audience.
  • Partner with Originations and Servicing Risk teams to embed geo risk lens in policy and oversight reviews.
  • Coach, mentor and develop a team of 5 risk analysts to drive execution of risk analytics and strategies.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Home Lending Geo Risk framework by leveraging industry, macro-economic and alternative data sources like Google search trends.
  • Partner with the Home Lending Risk Innovation team to identify opportunities to enhance risk frameworks leveraging Robotics, Machine Learning and other technologies.
  • Research, analyze and provide point-of-view on geography and industry risks as requested by senior management.
  • At least 8 years of experience, preferably in banking and financial services. Experience in consumer lending in large banking organizations is an added advantage.
  • Expertise in managing analytics teams and driving value based decisions.
  • Ability to work at all levels of the organization, including with senior leadership
  • Familiarity with sophisticated econometric analytics and prior experience with macro-economic / housing data will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of segmentation trees, regression models and stress scenario forecasting will be preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in business, economics, finance or related discipline.
