Pricing Technology Team

This team looks after a real time pricing application for the Interest Rate Derivatives trading desks under CIB. The team works with these businesses, interface directly with the traders, marketers, middle office, market risk and QR groups to gather requirements and build robust solutions.

This application is a global Interest Rate Derivative pricer (desktop application and related pricing services invoked by other applications). It’s primarily implemented in Java using JPMorgan QR analytics. It allows traders to structure trades; compute, view, summarize and report the risk for these trades; share in-process trades between the different groups involved in trade execution; and STP trades details and risk to downstream systems for trade capture and risk management.  It’s an easy-to-use and real-time pricer used extensively in the Rates, CIO, PB, Credit and GEM business worldwide for pricing swaps, caps/floors, swaptions and other IR derivatives. There are also external clients using this application via JPMorgan Market portal. It’s also a critical application as part of the financial regulatory reform initiative.


  • Experience: The candidate will typically have 3 - 5 years of related work experience, including hands-on experience in Object Oriented Programming (preferably Java).
  • Experience developing commercial software with User Interface (UI), during which time they will have gained experience of Object Oriented software practices
  • XML, Perl - good to have
  • Good understanding on risk management measures and process for fixed income securities.
  • Experience of working in a large global development team, using agile techniques and Object Oriented development and scripting languages, is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate accurately, concisely and effectively in a global organization
  • Confident nature, willingness & capability to work on trading floor type of seating layout
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with demanding sponsors and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure within agreed timelines and multi-task
  • Self-starter with proven ability to produce end results with minimal assistance
  • Control oriented
