Business Description
J.P. Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Strategic Event Marketing Team in Asia Pacific is the specialist team that manages line of business and franchise marketing events in the region.
This Hong Kong based Vice President will function as a regional business manager for CIB Strategic Event Marketing team. Key responsibilities include budgeting and expense tracking, risk/control, management reporting, etc. This candidate must possess organizational skills to facilitate the coordination and completion of multiple and various projects. In addition, the person should be able to work under minimal guidance and connect the dots independently to complete the assigned tasks.
The successful candidate will be expected to partner closely with Corporate Meetings & Events and other Corporate support organizations, as well as the Global Strategic Event Marketing team.

Direct Reporting Manager: Amanda Oatway, Executive Director, Head of Strategic Event Marketing and Head of Corporate Meetings and Events, Asia Pacific
Job functions/responsibilities
  • Support the Regional Division Head for senior management meetings with powerpoint presentations and  resolve the day-to-day queries or issues run through by Division Head
  • Lead the annual budgeting exercise and monitor the team expense on a monthly basis. Ensure cost is charged and reallocated correctly
  • Measure, track, and provide transparency to event data in Sharepoint. Perform data analysis and produce reports for regular update to management
  • Be the risk/control advocate and represent the function to collaborate with internal partners on risk/control and regulatory review
  • Act as the subject matter expert on vendor oversight and governance and advise the appropriate clearance process
  • Devise and document business resiliency strategy and planning. Coordinate physical test and communicate alerts on resiliency situations and recommend arrangement
  • Develop and maintain all team guidelines and protocol and foster adherence of policy and compliance
  • Support the people agenda in headcount planning, recruitment and training
  • Oversee the workspace occupancy of team in the region and coordinate office restack or reshuffle
  • Act as a special resource to support planning and execution of regional events during peak season


Essential skills/experience
The ideal candidate:
  • Degree in Business Administration is preferred
  • Over 8 years of experience in Finance, Business Management, Marketing or Control in a multinational banking environment
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment, and continually reprioritize to focus on the key issues / topics
  • Proactive, accountable and uphold strong business ethics when dealing with sensitive information
  • Superior interpersonal and collaboration skills, and flexible in approach
  • Strong problem solving mindset to resolve and escalate issues if necessary
  • A thorough understanding and appreciation of risk and control
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word & Power Point is a must. Able to develop powerpoint presentation and excel report from scratch independently
  • Strong written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Experience in event planning or execution is a plus
Language requirement Fluency in English and Mandarin
