Description
 
Futures and Options Execution Services group supports and facilitates all electronically trade futures and options.  As part of this remit, the team is seeking an additional coverage trader based out of London. The team has responsibilities and/or involvement in the following areas (which are not exhaustive):
 
  • Electronic Trading – including: Market Access, Client Connectivity, Algorithmic Trading and Pre/Post Trade Analytics
  • Risk Management and Pre-Trade checks
  • Order Book Management - monitoring and intervening with client order flow
  • Post Trade and Client Servicing Strategy
  • Market Structure Strategy
  • Monitoring and control of execution costs
 
The team is seeking to hire someone primarily with experience in core futures disciplines but with the potential to expand their knowledge to cover many other aspects of the team’s remit.
 
 Responsibilities include:
  
Working with clients, internal stakeholders and multiple internal groups to drive product delivery to commercial effect:
  • Trading: Executing and facilitating client order flow via DMA and Algos.
  • Clients: Understand client’s requirements: Opportunities for business-development and gaps within the firm’s existing product set. Build strong relationships with the existing client base and maximizing client wallet.
  • Internal Commercial Stakeholders: Work with Sales, Trading and Business Management teams to understand needs: Define commercial priorities, solutions and create plans. Collaborate on controls and commercial agenda.
  • Internal Disciplines and Support Functions:  Work with the following groups;
    • Technology: Ensure business requirements and priorities are clear, Govern progress of deliverables and facilitate expedited delivery.
    • Compliance and Regulatory: Understand regulatory requirements and ensure these are accounted for appropriately within product definition.
    • Risk and Controls: Ensure that products operate with appropriate levels of risk to the firm.
Experience required:
 
Product Knowledge
  • Detailed, bottom-up knowledge of core futures business workflows:
 
    • Front Office and High Touch detailed workflows and business practices:
      • Sales Execution OMS
      • Trading OMS / EMS:  Agency workflow
 
Post Trade Considerations:
      • Systems integration from front to back office
      • General clearing practices
      • Bundling / split allocation process
 
Basic Knowledge of External Market Structure across the Futures and Options landscape:
  • Global Futures and Options Exchange Landscape
  • Clearing Process
  • Execution Management Process
 
Basic Knowledge of Electronic Trading Disciplines:
  • Algorithmic Trading (including spread trading)
  • Market leading Futures ISV and vendor EMS product
  • Client Connectivity and FIX Protocol 
 
Soft Skills: 
 
  • Problem solving:  Provide creative and efficient solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to plan effectively and realistically; to verify the plans of others
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of seniorities and disciplines and to adapt communications style to connect effectively with all
