JPMorgan Investor Services Quantitative Research team is looking for a strong quant developer to support all quantitative aspects of the Global Derivatives Clearing business.
The team is responsible for developing and maintaining models for clearing house initial margin, inventory/capital optimization and associated client analytics. Specifically, the responsibilities of the team include new model specification, going through model approval, model implementation, as well as integration into production systems.
 
Responsibilities
 
The opportunity is to join our New York team as a junior quant with a focus on Global Derivatives Clearing.
 
Key responsibilities could include:
·         Take lead on modelling risk of cleared derivatives positions and build tools to help the business optimize
  • Contribute to design and build out of the data architecture to support Global Derivatives Clearing Analytics agenda
  • Work closely with technology teams to build desktop and web-based applications
  • Enhance pricing of client transactions in Prime Brokerage
  • Analyse risk in cleared derivative portfolios
  • Implementation of models in C++ and Python proprietary libraries.
  • Ongoing desk support

 

Requirements
 
The role requires a combination of a structured approach to problem solving, a can-do mind set working in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills are essential in our interaction with business, technology, and control functions. A healthy interest in good software design principles is a requirement as well as a minimum Master’s degree or equivalent in a numerate subject or computer science from a top academic institution.
 
 
Essential skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong track record of working with big data (Spark / Hadoop / Hive / Cassandra)
  • Strong programming skills (Python / Java / C++)
  • Knowledge of derivative clearing business is a plus
  • Experience building Machine Learning models is a plus (TensorFlow / Keras / Caffe / Theano)
  • Experience in inventory optimization is a plus
  • Advanced degree in a technical field from a top-tier school/program: engineering, sciences, computer science, applied math
