Job Description:
JP Morgan Intelligent Solutions (JPMIS) is a new group considering ways to transform and leverage JPM proprietary data assets into opportunities for JPM.  Protecting and managing intellectual property effectively as well as utilizing it to develop solutions that are both customized and scalable will enable JPM to create additional shareholder value.
 
If you want to work on greenfield projects and apply novel data science, machine learning and big data technologies to real work problems, then this is the role for you.  On a day-to-day basis, the role combines consulting (problem solving and client interaction), quantitative analytics, and hands on Big Data application development.
The Rapid Delivery team engages on projects that deliver real business value within a short time frame; therefore team members are required to have experience in contributing to projects from ideation and product definition to implementation and delivery. This includes: working with business leaders to understand problems, suggesting analytic solutions, working with the team to build and test quantitative models, and strong written and oral communication skills to convey and explain advanced techniques to a non-technical audience.
 
Candidates are required to have experience in the following areas:
  • Innovation & Product Development: experience in ideation and product development using machine learning/data science applied to real world problems
  • Familiarity with Quantitative Modeling: hands-on experience in creating and testing quantitative models (regression, classification, recommender systems, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills: demonstrates ability to convey complex information simply and clearly to senior business leaders
  • Goal oriented: can work independently to complete work and clear any roadblocks
    Candidates would preferably have experience in the following areas:
  • Strong background in a hard science discipline such as Math, Statistics, Engineering, or Science
  • Big Data Applications: hands-on experience in development on Big Data applications such as: Hadoop, Spark, or MapReduce
  • BI Tools: hands-on experience in development using BI Tools such as: Tableau, Qlikview, or dynamic custom JavaScript
