This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (Agile, program managements, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices and JPMC policies
  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms
  • Data analysis of the organization’s need to ensure automation development effort is focused on the biggest return on investment
  • Recommending solutions to meet the business needs by working with technology teams that range from development and production support teams
  • Communicating with both management and non-management teams to design solutions
  • Working with a team of software engineers and infrastructure developers to deliver automation frameworks that will be adopted by all technologists

The Core Foundation Services group within GTI is looking for an Engagement Specialist to join the growing engineering team and help define and build out a series of solutions across Configuration Management and Automation for Global Technology. The ideal candidate is a hands-on person that has strong background in implementing complex technologies. We are looking for someone who can help the businesses implement solutions that help facilitate:

As part of the Configuration Management and Automation Services (CMAS) team you will businesses implement the next generation of automation frameworks to be adopted by all technology teams that transforms how JP Morgan Chase approaches resiliency, operational efficiencies, and adoption of modern DevOps practices. In the role of an Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Product owner developing Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business owners including appropriate assumptions, acceptance criteria, User details, and non-functional requirements
  • Understanding what the business does and how it is accomplished and key process dependencies that may exist
  • Analyze business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows and assist in identifying scope of work
  • Elicit requirements and document in either a Business Requirements Document format or, as Agile Backlog Items
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience; communication of business information to a technical audience
  • Co-ordinate testing efforts with Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate cross functionality with infrastructure developers, support teams, and other software engineering teams
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in scrum/agile environments; Scrum certification preferred
  • Experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting, process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes required
  • Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally required
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures is required
  • Working with teams that use the following platforms/services:
    • Linux Redhat 6.x, 7.x, Windows Server 2012, 2016, Apache Tomcat, IIS, Big data technologies, Machine learning algorithms, and/or ETL / Messaging Queues
  • Working with teams that use the following software/tools:
    • Modern programming languages: Java, Python, etc.
    • Infrastructure automation technologies: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.
    • Build automation technologies: Maven, Jenkins, etc.
    • Monitoring technologies: Nagios, Tivoli, SCOM, etc.
    • Building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
    • Creating a distributed streaming or messaging layer using QPID, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.
    • Scripting languages like Python, Perl, Shell, etc.
