This role calls for a motivated Web and Mobile-aware agile practitioner; this is an outstanding opportunity to join an excellent delivery team with exposure to high profile Digital Architecture and Frameworks organization.
 
The Product Owner shall have agile-oriented experience of Business Analysis and Project Management activities in a software development environment.
 
Interfacing with the Business and partner areas to understand their product needs, the Product Owner will work with the Scrum Team and the Chief Product Owner in order to develop and maintain the Product Backlog while ensuring value is delivered at each stage of the project.
 
The Project Manager must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, be sensitive to the changing needs of the business, be able to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers 
  • Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks 
  • Ask probing questions to fully understand business requirements and provide feedback to the business on the implications of requests
  • Define, analyze and translate functional and non-functional business requirements into User Stories
  • Employ best practices, such as leading the effort to define use case models and activity diagrams as appropriate, to clearly define User Stories
  • Develop and maintain a Product Backlog of User Stories
  • Facilitate and drive sizing and prioritization exercises for Product Backlog
  • Lead the review of User Stories and other artifacts with the Scrum Team to clearly communicate the system requirements and product vision
  • Accurately and concisely articulate risks, issues, questions, and recommendations to the Business, Scrum Team members and management
  • Effectively maintain and reference project velocity while working with Scrum Teams during both sprint and release planning
  • Address change requests, issues and defects in a timely manner in accordance with Scrum principles
  • Work with Scrum Teams and management to provide a Definition of Done (DoD) and accept or reject products during the sprint demo
  • Participate in the Scrum Retrospective and recommend improvements to approaches in order to more effectively deliver requirements and support the Business
  • Ensure relationships with the stakeholders and cross-team members are professional and meet management expectations
  • Act as a liaison between the Business and development, providing insight to each team of the others needs and expectations
  • Work with some guidance from Senior Product Owners, accepting accountability and responsibly for managing own tasks and workload

 

Required:

  • College degree, specialized training or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years of combined business, project management, team leadership and IT experience required
  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) 
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. 
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency 
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc...)
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions (e.g. transaction management, risk management etc.) and industries
  • Experience managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups with strong team management, leadership and coaching skills
  • Project Management Certification a plus
  • Knowledge of outsourcing methodologies and operating models, and working with professional services firms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships
  • Effective meeting facilitation
  • Demonstrable knowledge in Web and Mobile product/solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Appetite and drive for innovation

Desired:

  • Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II) 
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc 
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games 
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team 
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs,etc) 
  • Previous experience as a team lead 
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
