The Role
The Legal Entity Controller sits within the J.P.Morgan Bank Luxembourg S.A. (JPMBL) Finance team, with staff management responsibility, and reports into the Senior Financial Officer. Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Working on the development of the Finance function to support the development of J.P. Morgan’s Luxembourg bank.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the legal entities ‘ general ledger
  • Day to day management of accounting operations including preparation of balance sheet and P&L
  • Month end close process of the financial books and records
  • Corporate reporting to Head Office (US GAAP)
  • Support accounts payable, cost accounting and inter-company transfer pricing process
  • Oversight of outsourced processes
  • Ensuring financial controls operate correctly
  • General ledger reconciliation and balance substantiation process
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns and review of corporate tax returns
  • Control of intercompany charges, ensuring compliance with tax transfer pricing policies
  • Responsibility for accounting and systems projects
  • Management of staff, including training and development plans, objective setting, performance reviews, and career planning
  • Ad hoc projects
Required Competencies

Candidate skills profile
  • Fluency in English
  • Qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) / MBA / Masters in Finance
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS)
  • Knowledge of VAT and corporate tax
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 10+ years of accounting / financial experience
  • 2+ years of staff management experience
  • Strong PC / systems skills, e.g. SAP
