Job Description:

Business Banking serves the banking needs of businesses with $.5 million to $20 million in revenue. The Business Direct Center in Business Banking will fulfill credit requests less than or equal to $250K for unassigned clients and prospects, nationwide.  Business Banking is looking for business sales specialists to develop lending opportunities while maintaining a focus on relationship-building, financial advice, client experience and risk management.  This phone-based platform could expand to support non-credit treasury products, Enhanced Client Due Diligence, and deposit account opening.

 

  • Provide phone-based consultation with referral prospects and clients to offer appropriate product for loans less than or equal to $250K.
  • Proactively follow-up on all credit referrals less than or equal to $250k from both Branch staff and Business Relationship Managers.
  • Use knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit and risk management to identify, recommend and promote small business credit products that best serve the client while still working within risk parameters that protect the bank; credit products may include but are not limited to credit card, lines of credit, SBA, Letters of Credit, equipment financing, and treasury credit facilities.
  • Provide initial review and analysis of applicant’s cash flow and strength of financial statement in order to consult on appropriate financing recommendations. 
  • Work directly with client to complete the application and fulfillment process, ensuring all necessary documents are included and complete.  Submit complete loan application to Credit Service Center.
  • Clearly communicate credit decisions and terms, including declinations and counter-offers, to clients and prospects, with the goal of booking the loan; keep internal partners informed of loan status and decisions.
  • Deliver an excellent client experience throughout the credit application and fulfilment process: solution-based consultation, complete & accurate application process, effective coordination with Credit Service Center for credit decision, and timely closing/funding.
  • Support deposit account opening process for new-to-Chase credit clients as required by Risk Management.
  • Protect the firm by following sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements, credit policy, and risk protocols.
  • Partner with the field and CSC to improve approval and booking rates; promote credit growth for Small Businesses nationally.

 

 

 

  • 1 to 3 years experience in credit origination or related business lending products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability to understand business financial statements, cash flow capacity, and loans across various industries and business types.
  • Strong phone-based communication and negotiation skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners to ensure successful completion of origination transactions.
  • Ability to recognize an issue or problem to escalate. 
  • Ability to balance needs of clients with personal goals and interests of the firm.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on sales transactions while balancing personal goals and interest of the firm.
  • Strong PC technical skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) Preferred
