Overview
Operational Risk Governance is an independent risk group within Corporate Risk Management, reporting up to the Firm’s CRO, and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Firm's operational risk framework as well as independently challenging its execution. One of the primary responsibilities of the Firmwide Operational Risk Executive Reporting and Business Management Team, within Operational Risk Governance, is to support the Firmwide Risk Executive for Operational Risk Governance in developing Board and Operating Committee reports and materials, as appropriate. In addition, the team performs firmwide business management functions, including development and management of the firmwide operational risk budget, driving firmwide initiatives, engagement and support to all the various operational risk teams across LOBs and functions.
 
The Firmwide Operational Risk Executive Reporting and Business Management Team is seeking an Associate to help support the team’s mandate and agenda, with a specific focus on executive level (Board and Operating Committee) reporting and content in support of the Firmwide Risk Executive for Operational Risk Governance. The role will also provide support to other ‘business-as-usual’ activities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Providing support to the head of Firmwide Operational Risk Executive Reporting & Business Management to assist in the coordination of activities across the team, including
    • support for Executive-level presentations and initiatives with a focus on content and messaging
    • coordination and tracking of key deliverables across different teams, as appropriate
    • driving/leading cross-LOB operational risk initiatives, as appropriate
  • Developing key relationships with stakeholders and partners to help drive initiatives
  • The role may also provide support and become engaged in other business management activities, as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • Experience in financial services industry with focus in Operational Risk, Audit, Legal or Compliance or other controls related area is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication is required, including a focus on executive level messaging
  • Working knowledge of financial industry/landscape and associated regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels, including senior management
  • Proficient in the execution and delivery of a project/task as well as its planning and coordination
  • Advanced analytical skills, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to challenge the status quo, gain consensus and drive change
  • Strategic and independent thinker with ability to frame end to end solutions and execute
  • Experience presenting information in differing degrees of detail and form, depending on the audience
  • A high level of attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
