The Compliance Surveillance Team functions as a second-line of defense performing risk based surveillance designed to detect potential misconduct involving market abuse and other breaches of law and regulation through trading and e-communication systems.
Compliance currently has an opportunity available for a Surveillance M&R Associate reporting into the Global Surveillance M&R Manager.  In this role the Associate will participate in the development and implementation of a consistent M&R framework and support analysis of surveillance results.  This role will work in close coordination with regional Surveillance teams.
  • Aggregate data across lines of business/regions/asset classes for multiple reporting dimensions
  • Work closely with the regional reporting leads to drive consistency in reporting  
  • Identify key trends, issues and watch items in surveillance results
  • Draft commentary for management summary reports
  • Support the build out of a strategic case management tool
  • Participate in the weekly Global Surveillance Reporting working group and support the governance of the meeting including agenda, minutes, action items and follow-up on open items
  • Support the governance of the control framework for M&R
    • Produce a monthly reporting book of work and calendar
    • Draft standard reporting templates for data consolidation
    • Maintain M&R procedures and  SharePoint site
    • Assist with data Quality Reviews
  • 4- 6 years financial services industry experience, preferably with a reporting, controls, compliance or finance background
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline preferred
  • Experience with industry wide reporting tools (creating and running reports)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High analytical capability with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently; agility in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to deliver projects consistently, problem solve and think strategically under pressure
  • Track record of building relationships across global organizations
  • Strong Excel, Access, Power Point skills, knowledge of Business Objects a plus
