Associate role in the Market Infrastructure Risk and Broker Dealer Risk team within CIB Credit Risk EMEA. The role will cover a wide range of clients, including Clearinghouses, Exchanges, Depositories, Payment Systems and Brokers, Prop Traders and Fin Tech companies within across all regions in EMEA.
Credit Risk EMEA, London is broadly split into Financial Institutions Group, Corporate, and Emerging Markets. FIG covers the full range of financial institutions: banks, market infrastructure, broker-dealers, funds, insurers, sovereigns and SPVs, while other industry sectors are looked after by Corporate.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
A Credit Risk Associate’s primary responsibilities in the MIR Team are:
Manage a portfolio of Market Infrastructure and Broker Dealer clients being the primary contact for and taking ownership of all aspects of that credit relationship
Organizing and leading client due diligence meetings and actively contributing to transactions structuring/execution and negotiation of documentation
Managing end to end the onboarding of prospective clients and new deals with existing names
Maintaining an open dialogue with client coverage bankers, GCB and trading desks
Assigning and maintaining internal rating and recommending credit appetite
Maintain a detailed and forward looking knowledge of developments in regulatory frameworks, client rule books and market trends
Work closely with NA/LATAM/APAC counterparts to maintain a consistent global coverage model (particularly important for our clearing house portfolio)
Coach and develop less experienced team members
Qualifications & Experience
The following specific skills and experience are required to perform the role:
Strong credit skills. The candidate has to be able to lead in depth due diligence, co-ordinate and produce credit memos, articulate a credit view and make recommendations to senior credit officers
Knowledge of the Clearing industry, Clearinghouses and the Clearing product offering is a strong positive but not a requirement
A good knowledge of derivative and banking products and associated documentation (ISDA/CSA/GMRA)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Be able to establish credibility and trust with clients, product specialists and credit officers, and to partner with them effectively
High level of intellectual curiosity
