Job Description:

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

 

The Business Middleware Services group supports all LOB's in Consumer and Community Banking. We work closely with many technology groups and deliver web services to our clients.

 

We are seeking a talented and passionate developer to work as part of our Agile team. Someone who is enthusiastic about delivering high quality solutions that provide real business value with a focus on writing smart, simple and clean code.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 

  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages

  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

  •  
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

    • sound foundational java, spring, maven and related technology experience

    • 3-5 years’ experience in the technology stack mentioned below. We will consider candidates fresh out of college with a self-starter and self-learning attitude who are willing to learn and grow with us.

    • have a quality first mind-set with a high emphasis placed on unit testing and TDD

    • open and actively seeking learning opportunities from more senior team members

     

    Technology Must Haves:

    • Java – good implementation skills with Java/JEE

    • Subversion or Git

    • Maven – Experience working with Maven as a build tool

    • Spring – Experience working with the Spring framework and other spring ecosystem projects

    • Database – Some experience working with ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA or MyBatis

    • Web Services –experience building and consuming SOAP web services

     NICE TO HAVE

    • MQ – Experience with MQ messaging is a plus

    • Experience in building and deploying services in the cloud using platforms like PCF is a plus

    • Experience with continuous delivery or continuous deployment is a plus
