Department Summary:

Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.

Team Summary:

Data Centre Services (DCS) is responsible for the development of Data Centre Strategy and Architecture to meet the firm’s compute and storage capacity requirements. DCS is also responsible for the management of Data Centre capacity, placement, governance reporting and metrics. DCS is accountable for Global Data Centre management, incident support and operations including Moves, Adds, Changes and Cabling. DCS is also responsible for the Global Media management function, providing physical data guardianship of removable media for the Data Centre sites.

The Data Centre Services (DCS) organization, together with Implementation & Platform Deployment (IPD), works to deliver seamless end-to-end Data Centre services for the firm-including provisioning of all core infrastructures services (network, storage, compute).

Role Summary:

The role is part of a client focused Data Centre operations team working in shifts to manage the 24 x 7 Data Centre, Machine Equipment Room (MER), Technology Room, and Line-of-Business (LoB) Co-location environments in Australia. The objective of the team is to manage the balance between businesses led technological change and the need to ensure that systems maintain high availability and low risk of information loss.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Part of a client focused Data Centre operations team that manages the Data Centre, MER, TR, and LoB Co-lo environments in Australia in compliance with Global, Regional and local standards, policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • The successful applicant will be required to work on a shift basis with rotating on-call responsibilities. 
  • Daily activities will include: 
    • Installation of new equipment into data centre equipment racks; 
    • Installation of new cabling and cable management; 
    • Removal of redundant equipment and cabling; 
    • Incident and change control management; 
    • Managing data centre access for all visitors; 
    • Managing third party vendors to ensure compliance with JPMorgan standards; 
    • IT asset management including inventory management; 
    • Logistics tasks including deliveries of equipment and storeroom management; and 
    • Media operations.

Experience/Skills Required: 

  • Minimum of 1 years experience in Data Centre management and implementation within a large scale environment. 
  • Knowledge of Data Centre technologies and associated environmental tooling and monitoring. 
  • Knowledge of ITIL Process (Change Management, Incident Management, etc.) and Physical Access & Security Management 
  • Strong analytical skills, organization and decision-making skills. 
  • Will need to be prepared to travel between sites if required

Additional Information:

 

This role will be primarily based at our Erskine Park Data Centre and will at times be required to cover occasional shifts or assist with activities at our Ultimo Data Centre.
