Our Team:


The Trusts and Estates Risk Management team is responsible for proactive management of financial, reputation, regulatory, fiduciary, and operational risks incurred by the Bank as a provider of services to its clients; ensuring an effective, risk-aware business environment in the Trusts and Estates practice.

Duties include, but are not limited to:


·         Serve as the US Trusts and Estates Risk Manager

·         Manage ITS and Delaware Trusts and Estates Risk Officers

·         Co-chair Trusts and Estates Oversight and Risk Committee

·         Partner with senior managers across Trusts and Estates (US, Delaware and Bahamas) in the practice and control functions

·         Participate in Trusts and Estates Business Committees

·         Review complex business activities;  providing guidance for mitigating associated risks

·         Review key risk indicators to identify trends or issues, including audit or regulatory developments and litigation

·         Material issue reporting for Risk Leadership (CRO scorecard, Credible Challenge)

·         Advise on significant new business initiatives (new trust products, exit of products)

·         Partner with Reputation Risk and Operational Risk to ensure proper oversight of Trusts and Estates practice

·         Consult on regulatory responses with Business, Compliance and Legal

·         Review results of internal audits, regulatory examinations and/or control issues

·         Interact with technology teams to improve risk monitoring tools and MIS

·         Develop and retain talent, including coaching and mentoring, providing ongoing performance feedback on a regular basis

·         Work on other ad hoc risk related projects as needed 

·         10+ years work experience in trusts and estates

·         Bachelor’s Degree required; JD or other advanced degree preferred

·         In-depth knowledge of all legal, tax and regulatory requirements applicable to fiduciary relationships

·         Technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal, and operations

·         Superior risk management, practical judgment and problem solving skills

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

·         Experience managing senior professionals
