Position Summary
Specialty Finance Business Banking serves the needs of businesses with $.5 million to $20 million in revenue.  The Specialty Finance Solutions Officer (SFSO) provides critical and strategic SBA and Equipment Finance product support to Specialty Finance Officers (SFO) and Business Relationship Managers (BRM). The SFSO is responsible for achievement of assigned Specialty Finance goals and for identifying, structuring and closing transactions for existing clients and bank prospects. 
  • Act as a strategic partner to 2-3 Specialty Finance Officers and an average of 40-60 Business Relationship Managers
  • Acquire new clients through referrals from BRMs.
  • Obtain critical documentation from clients on simpler SBA transactions needed to assure SBA Eligibility, serving as primary client point of contact
  • Structure and price transactions based on customer needs, competition and bank policies. 
  • Monitor pipeline transactions to ensure timely closing
  • Manage valuation process for all Business Banking transactions secured by equipment.
  • Call on existing clients and "targeted" prospects with BRMs
  • Retain client base through a high level of contact, exceptional customer service and needs recognition throughout the client life cycle
  • Refer clients/prospects to other product groups or lines of business when other product sales are identified
  • Participate by phone in BRM team and market meetings as needed
  • Travel to assigned territory at least twice per year to attend market meetings and participate in client calls
  • 1 to 2 years of SBA, Equipment Finance or related background in inside sales
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Marketing or related business field or equivalent work experience
  • Robust understanding of SBA programs and/or Equipment products along with industry standards and rules/regulations strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of alternative bank credit products and bank sales process strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Proven negotiating and business credit skills
