CCB Risk
Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others
 
CCB Operational Risk is responsible for overseeing and independently challenging the Operational Risk Governance Framework to help identify, evaluate and measure operational risk and losses, drive the quality and effectiveness of controls, and define operational risk scenarios for capital estimates.
 
The Executive Director Operational Risk Manager will be a senior leader within the CCB Risk organization, an independent, second line unit, and responsible for leading a team focused on the independent assessment, oversight and governance of CCB Home Lending business functions (Originations, Marketing, Capital Markets, Servicing/Default and Support Services), as well as supporting Home Lending Risk Management.
Must execute the following objectives:
  • Lead team to provide oversight of RCSA activities and verify conformance to RCSA standards
  • Manage to the Operational Risk Governance Framework objectives and requirements
  • Foster lead relationships with Corporate Operational Risk, Risk Management, Oversight & Control teams, and first line business leaders
  • Act as a strategic advisor and consult with senior leadership
  • Lead key strategic initiatives/projects; assist/partner with Operational Risk Officers as needed
  • Monitor inherent risk profiles in the business and the control environments, and provide guidance on risk mitigation and process improvement activities
  • Identify unmitigated or partially mitigated business risks, which can result in material financial, operational regulatory or reputational risks for the firm
  • Assess the risk associated with new business initiatives and change management activities
  • Ensure a broad, data-driven monitoring program for key risk drivers, exposures, controls, or potential operational risk events across processes
 
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in risk management or other related experience required (financial services environment preferred)
  • Extensive operational experience in Mortgage (Originations, Capital Markets, Servicing/Default, Support Services)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience; must be able to effectively interact with senior leadership
  • Able to operate in a matrixed environment; must be able to directly influence change, negotiate, and appropriately escalate
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills to be used in operational evaluation and interpretation of compliance information
  • Able to follow complex methods, processes and procedures in diverse routine and non-routine tasks
  • Able to handle highly confidential information and material in a professional manner
  • Experience with capital models or scenarios preferred
  • Strong priority management and multi-tasking skills required
  • Superior communication, presentation and project management skills
  • Highest level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency
  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
