As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, you'll play a big part in designing the platforms, servers, and networks make it possible for us to provide service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day.  In this role you’ll call on your experience designing tailored solutions to understand the requirements of a project, test the performance of the infrastructure, and verify that the requirements have been successfully met.  As a team, you and your peers will be responsible for driving results, collecting and analyzing monitoring data in test and production, and managing projects to completion.  And while you will be part of a tight-knit team of engineers who shares your passion for technology, you’ll also gain access the best minds in the business—both as part of the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global technology community, and through our partnerships with some of the most important tech firms in the world.


The Integrated Compute Services (ICS) organization, together with Data Center Operations (DCO), works to deliver seamless end-to-end Data Center services for the firm-including provisioning of all backend infrastructure. Core Infrastructure is the distributed, storage, IP network and Data Center services consumed by applications and enabling infrastructure in the Data Center.

 

In the role of SAN Deploy Engineer, you will be part of the firm's SAN provisioning team who handles all global SAN provisioning requests. The role will require demonstrating a solid track record of Storage Administration experience, but the role will center heavily around service delivery, continual service improvement, training consultants, identifying process gaps and looking for ways to deliver faster to our clients

 

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Proficient knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (Agile, program managements, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Intermediate understanding of LOB technology drivers and their impact on architecture design
  • Knowledge of more than one specific infrastructure technology
  • Thinks creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement
  • Specific Storage Administration Expertise:
    • Intermediate experience with SAN deployments and decommissions to single, clustered and virtual hosts (Fibre Channel, iSCSI)
    • Intermediate experience of SAN deployments and decommissions of both local and replicated, (SRDF/A/S and TruCopy), storage within large multi-tier storage environment
    • Experience in distributed storage environments and in an associated technology (Server, Networks)
    • Demonstrated ability to drive and manage large scale projects with little or no supervision.
    • Track record of automation within the storage environment

ICS works with our Line of Business partners, our ICS peers and Engineering teams to implement standardized, resilient operating environments at all JPMC core data centers in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.


Essential Storage SAN Skills

· EMC Clariion/VNX/Symmetrix DMX/VMAX

· Hitachi AMS/USP/USP-VM/USP-V/HDP

· Experience of Request and Change Management Tools and processes

· Command line experience of Cisco/Brocade/McData Storage Switches/Directors

· Advanced business continuity/resiliency knowledge

· IBM XIV
· EMC ScaleIO
· HPE 3PAR
· NetApp SolidFire

· Shell programming/Python programming

· Expert knowledge of at least one of; Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, HP HPUX, IBM AIX, Linux

 

Additional Skills

· Expert production technical operations experience

· IT Risk Management best practice experience

· Proactively analyze potential issues searching for ways to mitigate future risk

· Capable of acting as business liaison, translating business needs to technical requirements and providing point of contact to business during high impact incidents
